The only people who have fun with multiboxing with the current implementation of how quantity works in parties are the people using programs to send their mouse clicks to all the clients simultaneously.
Just playing devil's advocate here, but Maps are one of the primary currency sinks in the game because they force you to use currency so aggressively. If progress was easier and more reliable then it seems like the currency sink threat would be diminished. Great example is the OP said his ideal usage scenario would be to just use an Alchemy on every map and run that, which is A LOT LESS currency sink than the current maps system. If you remove the currency sink then what replaces it?

There is already another group of players that are complaining about inflation. Take away (or diminish) the currency sinks and you accelerate that problem.
Scrotie while I have you here, I was interested to see this interview with one of the devs which talks about current usage of life nodes. Curious if you had seen this before.

Mainly this part:
Spoiler
One of the most defining features of Path of Exile is its immense skill tree. That said, many are currently opting to go full HP, which ultimately destroys the concept of versatility. Do you plan on changing this trend? If so then how are you going to incorporate the new changes in the skill tree?
Brian Weissman: This trend is much more common in Hardcore, where it makes perfect sense. In Hardcore, your #1 priority is survival, which guides not only your choice of passive skills, but your gear choices as well. A player might opt to go spinning around with Cyclone using a big powerful 2-handed weapon in Default, but in Hardcore, that same player would likely prefer a 1-handed weapon and a shield.
Life nodes are meant to be plentiful, and obviously super attractive to Hardcore players. Believe it or not, the game went through a long period where people eschewed life nodes almost entirely, partly because Energy Shield was too strong, and partly because monsters just weren’t dangerous enough. We adjusted the difficulty and damage of the game because of this, which accomplished the goal of making life nodes very tempting.
We have no immediate plans to devalue life nodes. We want players to have to make the choice between higher damage and higher survivability. That’s a quandary that has always existed in ARPGs. True, there may be more build diversity in Default, but that’s pretty much intentional. We want players to experiment with wacky, esoteric builds. Hardcore just isn’t the place for that sort of thing, it’s about survival.
Instead of making life nodes worse or less attractive, what we’d ultimately like is to have a wide enough range of skills in the game that people feel there are other ways to survive hard content. That’s the ultimate goal. We’re also looking into ways that we can improve the Armour and Evasion systems.

Another excellent example of answers to various question we have here on the forums, posted on a different site.

A very good point. But if you read through my OP, alot of my suggestions include new forms of currency sinks which include charging a LARGE price to be able to buy maps from a vendor.

Even willingly spending vast amounts of currency on my maps I was still forced to travel backwards in progression 3 times. Following guides and advice from players currently in the high level maps even.

I tried it in wow. Tried to box a dps and a healer to be able to run last expacs 5 mans for mounts and junk. It was a pain in the ass and I soon gave up, however all I would seek to do with this game, is have a full party simply following me. A shame there is no /follow command, or /players 8.

You really have a large endurance!!! You'd run WoW multiboxed only to make sure that IF the mount drops, it will be yours? That's crazy lol. There were many other cool mounts to get. What did you try to get, the Vitreous Stone Drake from Stonecore? Never saw it :P I did get the Swift White Hawkstrider and Raven Lord after running the damn TBC instances DAILY for 2 months or something.

Anyway, multiboxing in WoW, if done correctly, is a pain in the ass sometimes. I will never forget the battleground where a shaman had some 6-7 clones, all with names like IdiotFool, IdiotFo0l and so on lol, and kept on one-shotting people like crazy. Basically broke the game, just like multiboxing breaks the game in PoE by increasing drops.

I'm not sure how you're gonna do the MB thing in PoE though ans still respect the ToS, and get the increased drops. You will have to have your clones on autofollow, so you can get the drops, and this is automation.

But as you said, I have serious doubts GGG has the means to detect this... I would still personally wouldn't do it. I hate multiboxing :\ If this is what it takes to enjoy the game... I'd quit.

I'm at the point right now of either quitting, or cheating to get what I want. Childish, immature, and a whole other huge list of insults. This is why I said earlier that I should refrain from posting in my current state as all of them are fueled by anger and frustration.

I don't claim to be thinking clearly at the moment. I am just very disappointed. I highly, HIGHLY doubt I will even attempt multiboxing. It was just another pointless rant made by an insignificant player.

That being said, I just see no other option for me to get into endgame.

Hahaha, I got the Raven mount on my DK from a friggin daily instance reward bag. XD I nearly crapped my pants! Made up for the ridiculous amount of farming I did for the Baron's Mount.

If I get a Mirror to Drop, or a Kaom's, I'll share the wealth. ;) (currently farming ledge and posting while waiting for it to reset).

Wow got so boring for me that it became a game of simply farming mounts and pets for me. Ofc, shortly after, I quit. But that was the main reason I tried to box a dps/healer combo. I ended up with something like 118 mounts tho, which sadly doesn't even come close to some of my guildmates collection.

When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
