I read a story where a guy tried to return a game, and they stated they only take games back that are unopened, but that they can trade your defective open game for the same game. So the guy traded his defective open game for the same closed game, then returned the closed game for a refund :P
I've done this before! :P

I've heard of people breaking items they didn't have warranty for, then buying the same item again, putting the broken one back in the box, and returning it heh.

Yes I did. Several of them. I just wasn't responding to them. That's why I didn't quote you. I think you made very good points, in fact. BUT I also think that what I said regarding privilege and expectations applies in a broader sense. Not necessarily to you. You got your money back and used it for something I'm sure we all agree is infinitely better. Good for you. So, that's that out of the way. I did read it, I didn't respond directly to it, I responded to someone else based on their reaction to you. This is no ground to accuse me of not reading what you wrote. At all.
I have to be honest, Charan. The way you backed up what Necromuso said, and echoed that D3 was indeed everything it was advertised to be and how you wouldn't go for a refund, nd about people needing to "own their mistakes" ...
Okay, so it wasn't a DIRECT response to EvilMoogle, but it sure seemed like an indirect one. I mean, in the same thread, Necro says several things in opposition to the (IMO very valid) points EvilMoogle made, and you pop in with, basically, "Yeah! And furthermore..."
So of course he took it like you were saying those things about him. I took it that way too, and was a little surprised by your reaction to his rebuttal.
Edit for clarity:

How else is that to be taken? LOL

I thought you hadn't returned a game before D3.

Not a game, a Bluray copy of Megamind for my little brother that was actually indeed faulty and so was the 2nd copy they gave me.
I am pretty sure they had a bad batch of them seeing as my brother is a huge Bluray collector with hundreds of Blurays that work perfectly on his Bluray player. I just didn't want to waste my time going back and forth anymore.

Ah, I see.
Oh, and BTW, Welcome to Wraeclast, Exile! :)
I know it's been a long journey to our shores. The bucket is over there if you need to throw up, but keep in mind that's also our dinner bucket. We'd upgrade, but those scoundrels back in Oriath have taken all our better supplies, and silver helms constantly leak. So please wash it thoroughly. That rhoa hanging there. Its blood can be used to ... well, on second thought, why don't you just puke in the ocean. I should have thought of that. It's right there anyway... derp...

Fair enough, friend...but if you had any idea of the...issues necromuso and I have had in the past (you may recall some of the acrimony on the Epic Thread of Epicness), you'd know that me 'siding' with him is always an incredibly conditional affair. That's why I said that last sentence -- it implies that I feel he may not be right elsewhere. I isolate these things to create contrast, not to declare unanimous support.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. I'm not sure in which thread it was, but he's said some things that made me tilt my head to the side as well. :)

and whatever fanboys did post in my thread I simply asked them why they weren't playing and ironically enough they said "servers are down" go figure?
Haha, that's great. :D
Even better after someone in this very forum tried to make the case that constant server issues just means that wow, the number of D3 players must have just really exceeded their expectations. Some people, hehe.
