I'm pretty sure that strength would increase the damage of the staff, then you'd have that damage multiplied by all normal modifiers (including strength again).

" Monkey bar's str based damage boost is not worded like a local weapon mod, so it isn't "bundled" with the local weapon damage. It would work like the normal str boost does, and get bundled with the rest of the "increase" mods. IGN: Totemofo

The Op is a bit wrong about the added phy dmg you can get on items (Just check http://poe.xyz.is/) and find best items and look up the mods.
Iron ring: 1-4 Adds 9-15 Physical Damage Amulet: 15-26 Belt: 10-20 Gloves: 6-10 Staff 20%: 22-38 102,5 avg dmg. This is perfect items. After doing the math and looking at these threads I dont think you will ever get dmg close to good rares but fun builds :> IGN: eLdiLdoRadO

well you guys can consider added fire damage and hatred. this is like 50% of damage conerted to elemental and there are 30% increased cold and fire in the duelist and marauder area(i would personally start as a duelist). so basicly with the passives, 65% of damage is converted to elemental damage. there is the 50% increased weapon elemental damage in the paladin area.so we waste only 5 skill points on elemental damage and we get +- 30% increased overall damage.

With armour on mobs it would only hit for 600 ish damage so like 1200 dps pretty shitty IMO

Testing w my L13 character and the staff.
Duellist, 121 STR, 28% increased melee physical dmg from nodes by Duellist start. 20% Quality Staff is 38 damage. (38 Staff) x ((+120% from Staff STR Bonus) + (+24% from STR) + (+28% from nodes)) = 38 x 2.72 = 103, which is dead on for the tooltip so this calc is the correct one. I just barely got to 13 so that I can equip it, haven't played w gems or anything else yet, that's why the socketed gems look weird =) Last edited by ManiiNames#0307 on Apr 11, 2013, 5:42:29 PM
