So how much can Monkey King Bar hurt? [theorycrafting]
UNfortunately, right now it kinda sucks.

This could be a very good item for an Elemental Hit + Melee Splash character.
That's about it; with the way it uses Strength, its low base damage makes it pretty unusable at high levels. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

Low dmg makes it crappy in midgame as well. Geoffrey's Hammer is a much better item.

" uhmm well look at it this way, this is actually a ilvl 63 or 67 unique staff being able to be six linked. who the hell specs into block? and Secondly, unlike maces, staffs have the shorter end of the stick (cwutididthar) because it lacks the huge physical damage nodes maces can get very easily. " Why wouldn't you want 12% extra damage and status effect mitigation on your staff or more? Block will block all damage and status effects. I'm not saying there aren't better mitigation stats overall, but that is a pretty nice one to get if you can. Self proclaimed noob to the core, but still hardcore

" Yep, i know this, simply pointed out a "possible" advantage if u build for block, since compared to DW or shield, staff blocking is kinda cheap to get, since its located near the other staff dmg nodes. Again, monkey staff atm favors atk speed and eleWdmg, so actually phy dmg nodes are kinda crappy for this staff, while ele + crit nodes work quite well. Now there are pretty nice ele and crit nodes for a eleWDMG staff build. So building for ele + crit and getting 30-40% cheap block chance, is actually quite nice. bye Andy Last edited by AndyPandy22#1315 on Apr 16, 2013, 11:25:13 AM
