Long story short, league launch was shitshow, which isn't exactly new.

What was new, was a special server provided to streamers who played without issues while the entire community stared at login screens, disconnected, or were in queue's over 100k

...I feel genuinely sick right now. And like I said, it's a SLIGHT hangover from my first social event since early last year. I'm 99.9% sure my gut-sick feeling isn't from a few glasses of mead last night.

I'm so sorry, friends old and new alike. I really am. A tiny part of me is like, 'this is what you get when you stick with a company that's essentially been bought out by a Chinese megacorp' but let's be honest, it's probably not even that. It's a business and this sort of prioritising of precious customers and free advertising is 'good' business. Getting caught that you do it, or outright admitting it, is not. OTOH I've also been telling you guys that GGG know now just how much they can jerk you around without losing your support and goodwill.

Or do they? Will this be the straw for more of you? Because if you're being level with me, it sure as shit should be. I spent years defending GGG against accusations of preferential treatment of big supporters/streamers, and I believed it. Right now, I don't know if I was right after all. Other than alpha access, which I got as a result of my forum moderation stint, I never received any sort of game-related preferential treatment, and that was EXACTLY as I wanted it. That was why I fucking supported as I did. Plenty of other games would have read my contribution as 'desire for advantage' and provided as such.

And yknow, this isn't even about big supporters, whom we know GGG have thrown under the bus repeatedly anyway. This is about a parasitic relationship between a company enjoying free advertising and incredibly low-tier celebrities happy to make GGG's game look good if it gets them more likes and subscriptions.

...Are you serious? This actually happened? There's absolute proof or is it simply a case of 'the streamers got in, we didn't, ergo there's a separate server?' I'm seeing people I know and trust espousing this so I can only conclude that GGG themselves admitted it. And that's the part that has me astounded. That they'd have the gall to admit it.

Thanks, dude. Without me seeing how terrible the queues were I can't fully and immediately 'get' this, but it seems even the streamers themselves (even ones I deeply respect like Steelmage) were aware of this AND ASKING TO BE REMOVED.

Literally live, in direct messages from the PoE twitch account, they were messaging streamers like Mathil, Quin, Ziggy, Ziz, and more, and telling them to log out and log back in as they had a special space open for them.

Yes. This. The reddit post I linked. In particular Mathil clip, it shows POE handle telling Mathil to relog to get in.

GGG, if you want to do the right thing, you should relaunch this league. I watched in real time as I sat in Queue with 22,000 people ahead of me, as no less than 5 twitch streamers/content creators with 60k plus got in before me. During that time, it took 48 minutes for my queue to drop by around 2,000 people.

It's not bad enough that this is unethical, or that you are showing clear favoritism towards "content creators", but most of your player base is either disconnecting randomly 5 hours after launch, getting stuck in load screens and crashing, or trying to play catch up in trade league that's blatantly rigged now. Like really? Empy and his 5 friends get priority access when they already own the monopoly on currency by day 1 of a league on a smooth launch? Feels a little sketchy.

What is the point of even playing this league, when everyone with priority access will be farming maps before the bulk of your regular player base will even get a stable enough connection to play your game?

That leads to the next concern. So, streamer RNG: Is it a meme or is there something to it? Because, now I kind of really question the morality of this company.

i mean its clearly evident that the game has become "streamer biased" im on the east coast so my game litterally started at 4 pm nyc time the moment i actually got into the game i see a little yellow text pop up "so and so player has reached act 5" im sitting there in sheer dissbelife cause not only did i have to sit in a que of over 45 thousand? but then i couldnt even get into town from twilight strand cause the game disscons you you even thinking aparently mean while this streamer dude is going totally fucking ham just playing away as im still trying to get into town ...hows this not a pay to win advantage?

FREE ADVERTISING that simple they dont want there game to look like total dog shit to the masses hence why it seems that the streamer dudes get better loots better latency less disscons better over all quality of life than those who actually bust there asses to get any thing in this game
