Streamer priority is as unethical as p2w. Discuss.

... But GGG didn't do anything. Some people basically cheated, and GGG doesn't plan on doing anything about it. Them apologizing or admitting they did the wrong thing isn't #brave. It didn't cost them anything. I for one find it annoying that the league is going to progress as if nothing happened. They should have done a reset on the first day, but it's way too late now.

I don’t think that’s “the normal response”. Seems like it’d be highly unusual to delete everyone’s (limited, yes, but non-zero) progress. I get that there are people who treat the league as a very serious race and value everyone getting off the starting blocks at the same moment, but others just want to play the game.

It's also a normal response that when your cell phone provider sneaks hidden fees into your bill you switch carriers, or at least threaten to.

Or when you're very unhappy with the service at a restaurant to go elsewhere in the future and warn your friends to stay away.

But when a company secretly provides the only thing they offer (the game as a service) to people fortunate enough to have the 'friends and family discount card' while you wait outside in the cold? You might think it reasonable to adjust your spending habits a little, right? No, no, no. That would be evil, abhorrent cancel culture you little propagandist you.

Don't even so much as think about voicing displeasure or distrust lest ye be branded with the mark of the rabble! I'd have to believe you're already on thin ice by trying to suggest that GGG could have done something differently. Please use caution and care in your posts exile - much like access to the servers on day 1 of the league, all opinions are equal, but some opinions are more equal than others.

If you were level 80+, well into yellow maps while others are just starting up you would understand what advantage that gives u.

There is a reason that people are playing 20hours/day at start u know - becouse it translates to 10x the value compared to later into the league.

I’m not disputing that some people being in maps while others are just starting means the former have an ‘advantage’.

But that happens literally every league, even when things go smoothly. Not everyone can be playing the game the moment of launch. Certainly not everyone has 20 hours a day (jesus christ) to devote to a videogame. “Oh, some players are in maps and I’m still in Act 1” is something people always experience, through no fault of theirs. Even if they’re the type who cares about that sort of thing, they get over it.

Importantly, loads of players don’t care about treating the league as a race, and don’t deserve to have their characters wiped to make other people feel better.

The league is not a formal competitive event and we shouldn’t treat it like one.

Ahh if it were only that simple.

Chris Wilson admitted the error and the conveniently decided to NOT mention the one thing that would solve the issue: league reset. Instead he "promised" they would come up with better ways to deal with server/marketing issues. I mean he literally stated in one paragraph that the league starts are predicated on being fair and that didn't happen. Then moves into the next paragraph essentially saying "we'll do it next time."

THIS is why people are angry. They want what they have come to expect from GGG for several years now and they aren't getting it because GGG decided to play with their new marketing toy of Twitch.tv and did it in the worst way possible. Since PoE is the best ARPG on the market currently, isn't it understandable why so many are angry with GGG and ready to walk?

So, because GGG didn't choose to reset the league after many players (and not just the streamers) had been in play for some time, he's some sort of evil villain, stroking his beard and chuckling as he lights Cuban cigars with $100 bills?

A reset would've been throwing gasoline on the fire. Even more players would've been pissed off when their hours of play, and all that entails, had been rolled back. And even more outrage mobs would've let loose a barbaric yawp of unthinking vitriol, because there's nothing GGG or Chris can do to satisfy them, except perhaps go out of business.

I hope none of you ever have to face having made a big mistake, because these days, too many people would rather indulge in an EPIC MOMENT of righteous fury than accept an apology, or seek a realistic solution. =9[.]9=

also whos idea was to give Streamer priority to WHOLE DROUP OF PPL WHO NOT STREAMERS BUT "BUDDY" that in really they just trade for streamers, flip, roll, craft, etc etc for them? WHY?

its not just 10-15 streamers but THEIR WHOLE GROUPS TOO! its ALOT MORE PPL lol


like 1 streamer can ask priority to his whole guild or bunch of b*chboys who work for that streamer its like 10-40 ppl just from 1 streamer so much ez to take control over economy and be on top ladder
