A realization about Path Of Exile economy, from watching Streamers

Any economy is gonna have people up the very top
@OP:

Havent read the entire thread. But here are my 2 cents:

You are following your own path, played the game your way for 7 long years and never succeeded they way the top 1% does each and every league.

Here are your 2 options, pick whichever you prefer.

1. Accept your path doesnt lead where you want to be, if you keep comparing yourself to the top 1%. But at least it´ll be your way, still you wont be anywhere near as successful as other guys. If you pick this option, quit comparing yourself to the 1%. You arent playing like the 1%.
Im pretty sure you know the definition of insanity:
Doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different outcome.

2. Change your ways and adopt strategies that will bring about success (whatever success means to you).
I cant do what streamer can pull off, but I can get close to that IF Im willing to put in the time and dedication.
Every single time I did that, I was able to crush the entire game at will within 2-3 weeks after league launch.
Fair warning though: This path is boring and tedious and repetitive and annoying (and no, RMT isnt needed at all).
Your reward will be: More boredom and virtual shinies. Thats it.
Once you reached godmode it feels good for a short while, then it starts being boring because nothing is challenging anymore. You´ve done and seen it all multiple times.
If you are dedicated enough though to keep going for some virtual shiny items, go ahead by all means. I usually quit at this point simply because I cant stomach more boredom and there is nothing left to do I havent done already.

Your call. You are free to choose and you will suffer the consequences either way, as you should.

Third option, you're wrong. You assume you are correct and you could be wrong. Therefore there's 3 options, therefore you are wrong. So you're wrong. Moving on.

1. Accept your path doesn't lead where you want to be
I choose not to and try to make a difference. Can't you see people aren't just whining, they are passionate about making positive change? Even if you don't agree with it.

Good for you, what does that have to do with anyone but yourself? I have tons of fun after reaching end game content in plenty of games. Sounds like a personal deficiency.

There are four main elements that differentiate rich people from poor people in a game like this:

1. Knowledge
2. Skill
3. The ability to adapt to the game, instead of demanding that the game should adapt to you
4. Time investment

While constructive criticism is always good (and needed), we are playing their game, and we're playing by their rules. If we're not willing to adapt to their rules, it doesn't take 200 IQ to realize that we will be at an disadvantage. In a game with trading, those 4 elements will always prevail. I don't trade much, but I always end up with enough currency to play what I want and reach the goals I've set.

But as to OP's main question: If you don't find the game fun, then no; you're probably not their "target audience".

Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Funny guy, ofc there is always that option and I dont claim to know everything.

However he does admit, that he does suck at trading since 7 years and cant get currency. So in this context I am right. He needs to accept it or change.

He is whining though and not about positive changes. He knows what he is doing wrong, not willing to change and still complains he cant get what he wants.
Thats not about positive changes. Not even close.

No - burn out.
Ive done pretty much everything this game has to offer and I did enjoy it for the longest time. I really did, otherwise I wouldnt have spent this much time here.

At this point its just tedious work. Its more or less just about choosing which color I prefer to nuke the screen, press moveskill, nuke again, press moveskill and so.
Maybe loot, if something interesting drops. Which is rare enough. And tbh: A loot based game that forces me to filter out 99% of loot has gone off the cliff in this regard.

This was fun for quite some time. Ill admit that. It really was.
Not anymore though. If the league mechanic fails to suck me in, Im out in less than a week.

I just dont have the time, neither the passion to go through all of this again to do what Ive done plenty times.

What has this to do with him you ask?
Thats what he is craving for. The powerlevel to do just that. Nuke, move, nuke, move, loot.
It takes currency and time to get there. It is fun for a while, but it wont last forever. And if he is forced to do stuff he doesnt like to do, like trading, then its probably not worth going for it.

Thats all. Maybe I failed to express that properly, English isnt my first language. However my point stands:
He needs to change instead of demanding the game hands him everything for free. Thats not how works or ever will work.

If he wants that 2 button gameplay so bad, he already knows what he needs to do: Learn to trade or find other means to make money.
Why then complain here instead of doing it? Its not rocket science.
Missed my point in OP, which was repeated several times in my posts already.
The thread is not about envying the "rich", nor is it about me somehow wanting an equal playing field with Streamers who play 25 hours a day, use a multitude of gameplay tools, and accept donations.
It's about the fun of the game being slowly and steadily sucked away from me by the Devs, who have decided the best way to approach balance and difficulty, and tackle power creep, is to balance around the "rich" and the Streamers.
So now we've got even more layers of RNG because why the fuck not?
And collecting X splinters of some shit that has a dozen RNG layers isn't enough, so let's make that 10X.
And that boss fight with the one-shots just got more one-shots and more HP and more crap on screen so fkn Empy will enjoy it for 5 extra seconds and I will stand no chance in hell...

P.S: should I like trade? Never did. Never will. This is path of motherfkn exile not a wall street simulation.
Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat
Shadow: That was fun
I would not follow the advice of "adapting to whatever it takes" (moreover just to appear in poeninja) because this ultimately leads into RMT
Gives streamers & friends queue priority and leaves supporters who spent hundreds $ packs in the 100k queue.

GGG: Don't you guys follow streamers?
I never watch streamers. Don’t care, couldn’t care.

Agreed on that one and no, its obviously not the best way - but the only viable one.
GGG boxed themselves into a corner, where they would be forced to balance a bazillion potential combos of gear, skillgems, supports, ascendancies and all that stuff while introducing new toys every 3 month.
Thats not sustainable. Not doable. Its just way too much stuff.
So the game cannot be balanced and never will be.
You might remember times, when there were way less toys and the game way more balanced. But thats the past.
You cant have your cake and eat it too. Thats GGGs core issue here.
They need to present shiny new toys to drag in players and they cant balance the game because they need to introduce new toys.

So either they have to put in the work to balance everything (for 3 months at best, which is why its pointless to even attempt it) or cull stuff to reduce the workload (which will upset everybody who liked the now no more existent stuff) or just roll with it and deal only with the outliner at the very top, stomping the game too hard without having to put in the desired time tax.
Could they reduce the powerlevel at the very top, yes ofc they could - why would they though?

The presented powerlevel by streamer serves to show off the gigantic carrot you are supposed to chase. Might not work for you, but it does work for plenty other players. And ofc trade fixes all those issues, bypasses RNG and allows you to do whatever you want - if you have currency that is and for that you need to grind, put in time.
Thats the justification to allow the power discrepancy and RNG overload - the purpose trade serves in this game. It allows everyone to mitigate RNG and get all items needed for powerful combos and stomp the game at will.

Do you have to like trade? Hell no. I dont like it either except selling stuff, that I do like. Buying stuff though - nope. Its hassle Ill only go through if I really need to and only for core items.

This isnt about gamedesign or philosophy.
This is about making money. Its a business after all.
It works perfectly fine GGG, it doesnt work perfectly fine for you.
Which is what I was referring to when I said: You need to make a decision and deal with the consequences.
[Removed by Support] For the rest of us.....play the game or don't......it is your choice.
