Unplayable Lag/Sync Issues
" I believe GGG improve the shift key due to recent patch. If u are using ranged attack, you now can hold shift to stop moving, while holding down the LMB on the target, and continue to attack it. Edit:- In short, you can just press and then release the shift button to attack. Perm. Retired from this unforgiving land of the Exiles. Self-impost EXILED. " Please download WinMTR and run it for at least 100 pings with eu.login.pathofexile.com as the "Host". Either post the output here or email it to me at support@grindinggear.com . | |
Hello, I've recently also started experiencing lattency issues inside the game.
Most of the time I'm playing on a very smooth 16ms (Europe) but at times it goes completely apeshit and ramps up to 180+ms. Often during this time I can't hit anything with my ranger (shots hit visualy for me but dont impact/do damage). Or I take damage from attacks I clearly dodged on my screen (this has gotten me killed multiple times and forces me to stick to default league for the most part). I noticed for me this usually gets worse when I'm in a party, if I am my ping shoots up from 16ms being solo to well over 100, up to unplayable levels. At times I recieve spikes but more noticable is it when it just flatout goes crazy at a consistent 100-180ms. I downloaded WinMTR, should I try using it on eu.login.pathofexile.com or on the IP in the log file? Also, should I just use it when I'm already lagging? |

It's a very dangerous time to level the last few days. Not sure how the Hardcore league has been running but the default league is broken for many players. Maybe instead of having a 1 minute patch the guys at GGG can shut down the game and get some real maintenance done at some point in the near future at off peak hours?. It feels like the game is being played in slowmotion right now. Nobody wants downtime but this problem needs to be addressed properly.

" idd, it's been horrible for me last few days, my internet's perfect except insane lag spikes to poe, changes between one map and another. |

I can't play POE anymore, it is just too frustrating. I have always had a shabby connection that has packet loss, yet I can play other games. Sure I get lag sometimes, maybe a spike, but on POE I get lag plateaus. I go from 100ms to 1000ms and it stays at 1000ms with no fluctuation for 30 seconds - 2 minutes. I think if there is a packet lost the POE server waits until a timeout has been reached to resend a packet which is unacceptable.
There are no other choices for upgrading my connection unfortunately or I would have years ago. PS. FWIW, when I get into these plateaus, I can log off and back on practically instantly, IE, manually force packets to be resent. Last edited by Swissy#1630 on Feb 27, 2013, 1:40:13 PM
