Unplayable Lag/Sync Issues

Same issue since patch for me. Very high latency and rubberbanding resulting in death. After a few spikes I drop to login.

My network health is solid. Issue is isolated to PoE.
it's almost embarrassing that so many players have these problems and no moderator answers.
Have been unplayable last 1.5 week for me. Dropping fps and latency spikes sometimes over 200, cant hit anything or use pots, have over 1 sec delay on everything.
Hi, i came back to the game, last played in february and i cant play because it teleports me back 10 metres and every 15 seconds or so i get a massive lag and almost always die, cause my spells dont work and mobs dont move and then it stops and i am dead....my ping is 9ms and i got 230 fps, it is not my Pc or internet, did they change ports or something with the game engine?......i cant play like this :(

They did. I'm not sure if that is what would cause your issues as desync is more of a server load and calculation problem... but they did change ports and stuff a bit ago.

I find that a lot of the desync is related to specific builds or specific skills. I play both a Ranger and a Witch and haven't noticed any considerable desync under normal play. I sometimes get desync if I'm attempting to kite mobs around rocks or other barriers, but never with my skills or their firing.

I've heard there are certain skills that cause a huge amount of desync.. like cyclone or whirlwind or whatever it's called (I don't play a melee, so I don't know). I'm not saying all causes of desync are playstyle related, but in my experience the only times I personally get desync is due to how I'm playing.
About a week ago I started having the same problem. Unfortunatly though it's not only the game. As soon as It's loaded up my whole internet starts lagging like crazy. Site's don't lode, streams buffer endlessly etc. Not that it happens every time I play, but it's the case most of the time.
Just started the game today. I can play d2 and d3 with no lag issues. I couldn't even get started in the game because the lag and sync issues. It's a free game, but I can't recommend this to my friends if it's going to be like this. I was hoping this would be a new game all my friends could play together.
Just curious how many of you experiencing these problems are using Comcast as your ISP?

I have been running through their forums and apparently people all over the country are experiencing horrible lag spikes, disconnect, and general unresponsiveness when everything used to be working fine not too long ago.

I believe the problem is simply the decline of internet connections, and if I had to guess is being caused by the NSA beginning to test massive data mining operations as they now have full access to the entire infrastructure.

Hard to tell if this is isolated to Comcast, or if they are only doing it within certain regions as a test run.
Hey there,

I also run into this horrible desync problem since a long time. Also made WinMTR log screenshots.

1. With 100 pings/requests from my side:

2. With 100 pings/requests on your (server provider) side:

3. to a instance server:

It's the same when I play while I make the measurement.

This make hardcore mode unplayable for me!
Position resets and late hit-feedback all the time, mostly if i use wirling blades or do aoe damage to a mass of mobs.

It would be nice if someone can tell me what causes this massive packet loss.

Thanks alot!

best regards...

Every minute or so, I'm getting lag spikes that last about 5-10 seconds. I'll either get teleported back, see monsters stop moving, stop doing damage all together, or die when everything catches back up. I just moved to a new place, so I'm on a new modem/router and new internet (faster speeds than my previous), and I just started noticing the lag spikes. My old internet was through a local company; whereas, this new internet is through Cox.

Like others, I've seen many people with Comcast and a few with Cox that are experiencing similar problems. What's odd is I don't notice it as much in other games. Perhaps it's due to the fact that I don't rely on precise timing like I do in PoE.

Anyway, I love the game, but if you guys have any suggestions to help with this, please let me know. I'm about to head down the road of internet diagnosis which always sucks...
