You can use anything you can until you can get something better, 2 abyss socket are much better than a 40%increased minion damage implicit mod ( plus i already have that from the 2 jewels socketed in my light poacher)
Plus, you can" t get the Uber lab enchant on a bone helm...that's bad...

For leveling, because i only used a 4link dom blow, and no-link HoP, i didnt have brutality on, just hatred...so i only had 50% mana reserved
Later on, i bought a "phys leeched as mana" amulet and gloves, even if i can't sustain my attacks continuosly because of the leech and regen, it doesnt seem to be a problem for me.

You're talking about strictly farming, in a boss scenario any spectre or animate guardian will die so fast you'll never even see it fight.
This is not "that" type of summoner...you're not summoning minions to kill and tank for you while you sit back and support them with spells, YOU tank most of the damage , and you fight side by side your minions, even though they do most of the damage.

The base idea of this build is strictly this:

You are a melee summoner! Melee meaning you HAVE to hit the boss/mobs. You will always have minions up! even if they die you can resummon/refresh your army so fast it will make the bosses head spin.

This is from another guide:

Sprectre: Purchase or level a desecrate skill gem. This is used to spawn corpses on higher level maps. Equip on wep switch, preferably with spell echo to assist in getting large number of corpses. Using the A key is helpful in highlighting a particular corpse.
Go to the old fields in act 2, kill carnage chieftains and animate. Now head to the highest map level available to you and spam desecrate in a safe area until you find carnage chieftain corpses in the corpse pile. (You haft to have a chieftain present in your summons pool in order to spawn a chieftain corpse). Hold the A key to highlight corpse, animate and profit. Removing the gem from your gear will result in a repeat of this process. Sounds way more difficult than it really is.

I liked the tree and life regen from this guide. I did yellow elder today and my spectre and guardian took the final blast in order to see how much life they lose.. it took half the life of those minions so maybe it is not viable for red elder etc.

Don't use Leer Cast for your animated guardian. Craft a helmet using Jagged Fossil until you get the Nearby enemies take 9% physical damage.

I'll be leaving for Madrid in 2 days time, for a 2 week vacation, long planned long awaited, so i will be out of the game's reach for that time, but i will still answer any questions any of you might have and if requested...maybe a disscusion stream about this or any build you guys wanna talk about while i'm gone, hope you all have fun and i'm still waiting for updates on how the build is going from your side.
