As for trading, yeah. GGG has yet to implement their grander plans for web based trading. We are limping along, no denying that. But an AH or consignment house would be just another bandage, not a reliable crutch to aid with actually getting back to unassisted movement. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I would welcome more ban hammers. People acting like that is just ridiculous and does nothing positive for the community. On the contrary, it hurts the community. You want a mature OMGHARDCOREZL333T community (I don't, but that is my opinion)? Start acting mature and you will be amazed at how the community, and game grows :)

But let me ask a few questions OP. Do you think that AH system (like in DAoC) would work? --In a barter system where there are no fixed values nore you should wish for fixed values.-- Wouldn´t it destroy the option to trade armor/weapons for armor/weapons? Is the lack of patience to trade not a problem on your side? Also the situation you descriped where your templar went to western forest seems to look like a mental blackout. What can never be lent or earned?

What's with the hate on the auction house?
It's not like he's asking to buy stuff for real money. I can't even begin to grasp the level of dumb that comes from a community that wants to sink 10+ hours into trading for a single piece of gear when you could just as easily spend 10 minutes digging through a list and purchase something. It's not like auction houses kill bartering. Even in games with little bartering, (a small game like xenimus comes to mind), they have auction houses, and trading still happens without even bothering with the auction house. Here is what I don't understand. This is open-beta and on the loading screen for instances there are four words that sum up every complaint... There will be bugs.
This is not fully relevant to your rant but then again it is. This is still a work in progress with improvements being released weekly. I don't suspect the problem lies with GGG but rather with you. This game rocks and brings to the ARPG field what fans have been lacking and longing for for a very long time. D3 was released as a full version for 60 bucks and was more unfinished than PoE (which is in beta). Charan's bandage comment was perfect. D3 put a lot of bandages on their full version game. Why go to Western Forest where easily 20 mobs come rushing at you, 5 of of which wanting to explode in your face? Why not farm Act 1 bosses one or 2 dozen times? If you were so terribly undergeared they sure had some nice drops for you. What IS so difficult or problematic with the TC that you were unable to buy some gear? Just sit there and hover the mouse over the yellow stuff, no? Sorry, I don't get it. |
