It's so BORING to do storyline all over again
For what it's worth, the repetition of the story line quests is what keeps me away from sinking hundreds of hours into this game.
It's not fun. It's not a good type of grind, and unfortunately, I shouldn't be forced to grind story line quests to jump into the meat of the game. |

" No, it's actually hard as hell. I think GGG should seek creative ways to randomize the campaign more than anything (it seems a balance nightmare to handle alternative levelling ways, so better to attack a more reasonable problem). New ARPGs in the future should try to avoid having a linear quest structure and they should be more sandboxy (think of something like Fallout: New Vegas with alternate starting mods). Crazy suggestion: randomize act structures with the technology used in the labyrinth. Add a Forsaken Masters questline

League soon will be over and new league will start, and I had so many builds in my mind to experiment with, but I just hate boring storyline leveling process and I did not play PoE much and did not doing any challanges and didnt donate any money.
Is there any possibility that PoE will have some rifts (like in D3) system for leveling? Because now experimenting with builds is gated behind obligatory boring storyline (and labyrinths, and thats another story) and its not ok imo. dead game bring back 3.13 Last edited by Tainted_Fate#2799 on Feb 2, 2018, 4:23:10 AM

An endless ledge map that scales with level to a certain point will be great , it could unlock after you level a character to lvl 90 for example .

Uhhhh we have very different values it seems...
I find mapping in general extremly boring esp when you reach red maps. The whole endgame grind part is something Im not going to do again... It's not fun for me! So when I reach red maps or so I reroll a new char and PLAY the storyline yet again with a new char. And I mean play, not rush through it. All the quests, side ares and optionalls. Upgrade equipment every 5 levels or so. Not the "use this skill until lvl 65 when you can switch to your real build" stuff. If Im going for a RF build I start using it at lvl16-20ish, is it gona suck? yepp, but thats not the point. The point for me is to play the game and adapt, not rush to endgame and grind vault until you eyes fall out. As I said... very different. |

" Agree with you exile. It was kinda boring for me to play through 3 difficulties on 3d+ char but now after there's 10 acts of nice flowing gameplay it feels so smooth leveling to 70+, i can do it forever. And now the so called endgame is what kinda boring for me, so I have to choose between finishing my build and reaching its full potential by playing hundred(s) of maps or just roll a new toon and actualy have a pleasure. So I heavily disagree on a subject, IMO storyline is almost perfect, it could be better only by being longer and ending at lvl 85+, so I could have skipped mapping entirely if I wanted to. But also I wouldn't mind alternative way of leveling, the more choices you have the better. PS. And yeah, the main boss of prolonged storyline should be optional and very strong, Shaper/Elder level, so you can actualy try your build on "endgame boss" without farming maps like crazy. Yes, I know you can simply buy any fragment set (except SSF) but now you can't level 85+ on storyline so whatever. Last edited by MaxGor31#4492 on Feb 2, 2018, 6:53:26 AM

As if running through ledge for 7 hours in order to level up would be more interesting than running through the acts for 7 hours.
Complete BS, the only reason you think it would be more fun is that you imagine it to be faster. |

Noone says that story mode should be deleted, you like it? Go play it, why would you even post your useless replies in this topic?
I am talking about alternative leveling system, so learn to read before you post. dead game bring back 3.13 Last edited by Tainted_Fate#2799 on Feb 2, 2018, 10:06:04 AM

Don't know if GGG really reads all these... but my suggestion would be this:
1) If you get a character to the Atlas on anymode, there should be a THRESHOLD new starting point for new characters. 2) Define threshold: Perhaps (this is debatable), after your first character reaches the atlas (or say, level 80 or 90 - whatever works), any newly created character automatically starts in Act 5. The new characters start as level 40 in Act 5, with all the passive points for the level unlocked, but with no gear or any quests done (no skill points quests from prior acts done etc.). 3) Now the player can push up faster to maps with the new character. Now it becomes less boring. I play Hardcore solely, and spending 8-12 hours to get to maps every character is just... ridiculous and boring. |

" Chill mate, no need to burn. Yeah I got it, we ruined your circle jerk, but the subj says "It's so BORING to do storyline all over again" and I say no, for me it's not. So either name your threads less whiney or bare with other's answers. |
