GGG hates standard.

i used to play only standart for a long time myself , until i actually gave templeagues a shot and started enjoying starting fresh , with a lively chat everyone sharing their new finds or helping eachother out with an active 820 chat.

getting powerful items like reach before it got nerfed for the first and 2nd time having probably the best bow ever made by GGG available on standart to play around with in the future and the present is great.

i kinda want all the harbinger uniques to transfer them over and see what they can accomplish with turbogear on standart available.

voidheart being 100%bleed and poison is also nice with the new improved poison bleed nodes.

dunno i play both sometimes neither when a league doesnt phase me and there is no new uniques to hunt.

regarding this patch i kinda expected for them to introduce higher maptiers but i guess those will come with the next patch or thereafter.

Obviously 95% of the playerbase plays in leagues and avoids standard, so they're going to focus on the 95%.

Be happy this game even has standard, it's entirely reliant on being constantly fresh, and standard is just there for people that don't care about new stuff.

And yet here are standard players telling you that's horseshit. Be glad standard even exists? Where the fuck would your characters go after the end of a league if not for standard?

Oh right. You live that in strange world where you invest three months into some shit then it disappears into the ether and that somehow makes it a magically better way of playing the game.

As I said above: we get why people play leagues. But it's fucking infuriating that very few people actually understand or care why we play standard, like we're from another fucking planet, and then call us trash just to be an extra fuckwit about it.

Synopsis of OP (the post, not the person): I don't like A, B, and C, so A, B, and C are *expletive* stupid. And because of that, GGG is *expletive* stupid. Since I play standard, and this affects standard, GGG *expletive* hates standard.

This is a really silly thread. Some people play standard? OK. SO WHAT? Why would someone give a tin shit? I play in standard when I get bored with the leagues which I usually do, but not always. I always play new leagues. Some people never do. This does not keep me up at night. Why would I care?

GGG messed up though with this launch. For one thing, they said the passive reset would be optional. Nope. For another some quests are fucked up. From what I saw with one std character last night, 2 of the minor Gods are FUBAR but they have the majors for free. You have to go back to get your extra skill books. Boring. I was going to do a cleanup of some characters in stnd that I never play with EVER and they are just sitting there since their respective leagues ended. Now I know I will.

Depends on how you care: do you care enough to tell Std players to shut the fuck up when we ask for our characters not to have broken updates? Because no standard player wants to listen to that, any more than you'd like hearing someone call you a retard for playing leagues exclusively.

GGG is the party that should honestly care, except they don't. Generally I've not gotten mad when standard gets treated like shit during updates, but making it so none of us can play our standard characters through the expansion because GGG was too fucking lazy to spend any money figuring it out is a bridge too far. (How many fucking employees do they have now? They can hire that many people but they can't budget their coders to actually try to come up with a solution that doesn't blow ass for all standard players?)

I work in software. I get that. I also get they have a boss who sets timelines, deadlines and priorities. They rushed this shit out for how big and sweeping of an expansion it was, and if it sucks ass and they did an incomplete job, then they are to blame. And it'd be fucking nice if, for once, they actually acknowledge that to their standard playerbase. Won't change anything except letting us know that our enjoyment isn't literally 100% expendable in their eyes.

As I said above, if GGG would come out and say standard is dead to them, I'd be done the same day. But instead they string us along because they like it when we buy MTX. If I knew that my league was an almost zero priority to them, I wouldn't buy any more MTX's. And I'm sure a lot of standard players wouldn't either.

And if FoO is the level of support we can expect in the future for std, then they've already lost my MTX money. (*cue the boo-hoo g'bye no one gives a shit troll posts)

Like I said, I've been around long enough to know how standard gets treated, and I've mostly shrugged it off as a casual player. But FoO is the first time I've actively felt fucked by an update as a standard player. Why would I keep coming back to my standard characters if none of them can actually enjoy new content updates because it's just easier for GGG to hand wave our progression, forcing me to restart and/or play leagues to see it? Let alone why would I give them money if they're going to play us like that.
