GGG hates standard.
" im not talking about if its boring or not, im talking about a reason to do things at late game. d3 have paragon and always harder things to run, im at 90 in poe my build is pretty much done i have little to no room to progress there for little to no reason to run maps and atziri and izaro and shaper over and over doesn't matter if its fun or not. " You must play D3 at a very superficial level. Atziri, Izaro (lol) and Shaper is no challenge for decent league players. They essentially become on farm 2 weeks in. |

" That i can understand. Tho i found paragon levels kinda "meh" and they did not keep me intrested at all. You could try those "poe paragon levels" aka levels 90-100. But i also do get bored usually when my build is fully together and i have reached lvl 93-95. But thats how these games usually are. When i get bored i go play different game for a while or make a new crazy build. |

The best part about playing or even trying to make test builds in Standard League is Poe.Trade.
I can't tell you how many times I've gone from top to bottom trying to buy a specific Item and I've had 100+ people ignore me or admit they are too lazy to move over to standard to give me this item that THEY PUT UP FOR TRADE!!!!!DSIAOUFOISDFJASDFRWE! I tried getting on the League hype train. I have to admit it's boring starting over again. If nothing else it would be nice to give standard an EXP buff so people who die in hardcore have a reason to get their character to level 100. Or maybe finally add an auction house that's standard only. I'm not asking for content anything crazy centered around Standard because I know they pretty much ignore standard. I'm still trying to get my passives from the Bandits quests fixed...that's all the proof I need. |

I play leagues when I crave a mindless fresh start, because it's super easy to start in a new league to try out some new build as most of the stuff is super cheap. I play standard when I'm not in the mood to start from zero and want to actually get my characters geared up and to complete the build and content, since the short lifespan of leagues doesn't allow that as I don't play 24/7.
That's about it, both places have their pros and cons. Though, it is true that GGG's severe negligence damaged standard, especially with the legacy item fiasco. Last time I checked one of my characters, multiple of her armor pieces were updated to have way better bonuses, but apparently divine orbs cannot be used to reroll and get those new bonuses. Am I supposed to get another 6l or to grind uber labyrinth for a week again for that enchant? Stuff like this is extremely discouraging. |

two different types of players.. those who very much enjoy the game but have lives.. and those who very much enjoy the game.
I guess I wouldn't mind restarting and chasing speed leagues if I had absolutely nothing else to do |

"And nothing stops you from making new characters in standard. I start new characters in standard all the time, and unlike you league players I actually level as my build instead of using some op leveling skill. I've played leagues as well. The only difference was that when I eventually needed to upgrade my gear, instead of going to my stash I had to buy from other people. Last edited by Telzen#2427 on Aug 12, 2017, 11:54:33 AM

Leagues can be played just as casual as Standard. For example with a one-time investment of a single full weekend you can be in maps and after that you just progress at your own pace. No matter whether you do 5 or 100 maps per day, there is no set goal in this game.
What's the point of doing Shaper over and over again? For the grind achievement? Getting your char to 100 isn't that exciting either, I just don't see the reason for people to cling to their chars like they are actually something of value. Experiencing new content with an insanely geared Lvl90+ char just takes a tiny fraction of the time it would normally take, and then you're wondering that you're bored with the game after a few days again? Leagues offer more than enough time to experience some of the endgame content even for moderately active players and if you can only spare 3-4 hours total a week, then maybe there are other games that fit your profile more. |
