I don't understand what some people are talking about when they say that new content isn't new content and that GGG hates standard.
New content is new content, how is it now new? Also league has the exact same new acts etc, just 1 extra mechanic (which might or might not get added to standard as the league ends aswell). Leagues are basically kinda like tests for new mechs to add or not add to the core game + fresh economy which some people prefer, whereas others prefer a persistent one (standard).
Also according to GGG's posts, about 30%-40% of the PoE playerbase, plays standard, so saying it's not important to them is ridiculous, Standard IS the core game, a league is just a temporary thingie with 1 extra mech that might fail and never even get added to the game.

Well since this isn't a charity, you can't really call it donations, it is microtransactions. Business transactions where you pay for virtual assets.
