Actually resistant bacteria appears naturally via mutation. (Mis)Using antibiotics means selection pressure, resistant organisms can survive. This is why we see so many resistant strains in hospitals or agriculture. Evolution at work. As for vaccinations: No vaccination against bacterial infections => more infections => more use of antibiotics => more resistant strains No vaccination against viruses => more infections => more use of antiviral substances( if possible), followed by resistant strains and/or antigenic shift (see above) with possibly more dangerous and less treatable strains.
