Cant play, no maps

I think for a lot of people, it comes down to just wanting to play the game without any of the bullshit.
Just log on... go into the Atlas and start up the content relevant to your character or closest. (Obviously there is no zone level 90+)

Maps can be stressful and frustrating for people. You chisel up the map... you alch it.. (get a mod that you can't run) chaos it... chaos it again.. vaal it maybe... ok good, got a nice map. Then you go through it and it drops some tier 2 Factory map. It's a horrible feeling. I've personally been going through some maps and just thinking to myself "Come on... plz another red tier drop... 50 monsters remaining... 25.. come on..." then a sigh of disappointment because the game didn't decide I was to get anything.

You can't possibly say that your swimming in maps and then tell everyone that they should be as well. It's random at times and even if you put everything you have into a map, you don't always get a return. Maps being a drop means that one players will enjoy it because of how things dropped for them, while another player hates it for what they didn't get. Trading for content is just a crutch. Players should be able to progress through the game by playing the game not buying it. Not to mention people are still trying to improve their character. If you have to spend it all on maps then its very frustrating to have to try and do both.

I get it, it used to be worse. High level maps used to be exalts. But the great thing about having a game system out for many years and then designing a "new" endgame is, you have the ability to improve on it and fix up the flaws. GGG didn't really address these issues. Maybe this is the kind of endgame they want. But it doesn't mean it sits well with a lot of people.

That and running level inappropriate content 95% of the time. That is boring. I know some of you don't mind grind and playing with eyes closed or watching a moving while playing. Kinda like a human bot. I have no interest in that. I always like being on deaths door to keep me entertained. Current and past mapping systems do not allow that. You run face roll 95% of your time and get some good maps 5%.

COuple patches ago in pendarus I limited myself to a 3L and still got bored! Could run 14 maps and 15 abyss (not the other 15s) but we all know how rare even 13 maps were so I was running 10-11s most of the time. Got bored with about 2ex in gear and a 3L. GG 6L setups are way worse.

GGG keeps you mired in level inappropriate maps no matter level/power of you. It's all part of thier currency sink apparatus. Keep you running shit maps 95% of time good/challenging 5% of the time when you hit good RNG.

Atlas did absolutely nothing to fix that issue. Thats the issue I have/had with this game. A lot of people don't mind it and are all "i get red maps" and I'm like so what? I'm still bored running those and expending way too much currency maintaining those.

This is why I like D3's rifts so much. There is no point you will say this is boring. Difficulty is unlimited so you will hit a brick wall no matter how well geared and can keep after it non stop until you over come that rift. Not run say dozens of say 35s while you should be in 45s.

Here I've done everything this game has to offer many times with my own builds. It's not that hard. 15/16 maps Uber and shaper. The only "challenge" is getting there with shit RNG running mind numbing low maps most of your time and playing trade house so you can even afford to do that! THAT SUCKS.

That sounds like a wasteful use of time...

People should be encouraged to go forward, not backward.

It's PoE, you play to waste time; waste time getting good, or stay bad. Your call :)

Games are not a waste of time if they give you entertainment. I'm playing $2000 for UFC 205 tickets to be entertained for 3 hours.

Grind and grind for currency for hours to be able to run proper content for your character is not fucking entertaining.

You're doing it wrong if it takes you 'hours upon hours..' to get enough for a few higher maps.

I guess every streamer, every high level person I know is doing it wrong when I see them frolicking in low level reds most of the time even though they *can* do 16's shaper, uber 24/7. I bet if I added you you'd be in level inappropriate maps most of the time. In other words you are full of it.

WTF are low-level reds? Players have never been expected to be able to sustain tier 15 maps. It just isn't supposed to happen. That's the nature of the system. That said, it is technically easier than in the past, since you can force map drops to upgrade by one tier.

Also, what exactly do you consider to be "level appropriate" content for a level 95 character? At the moment we only have maps that go up to zone level 83, which is still not "level" appropriate technically, considering the way that XP penalties work.

Buy maps. If it takes you hours and hours to get the currency to buy your way into higher map tiers, then you ARE doing something wrong... The reason you see streamers running what you consider to be "low level" maps is that they want to usually. Sustaining red maps is not hard anymore, once you have unlocked most of the Atlas, and have a good bonus %. If you are rolling maps correctly, have unlocked most maps, and have a good bonus %, and you still can't sustain tier 12+ maps, then you are just getting really bad RNG.

Lol. Stop being so entitled.

Path of Exile: The only game where people think access to on-level content is a privilege.

Bug Fixes:
People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Also, we went ahead and made cyclone great for CoC casters while we were at it.

*access to on-level content without performing an obvious and simple task to give you access to the content.
