Gave it some more thought. Outside of the temporal chains effect this mace provides against shocked enemies, it isn't that unique.

Know what would make people go nuts for it?

Bring back race seasons.
It wouldnt be so incredibly disapointing if the mace was inherently good with bleed, or had anything to do with puncture. (god no, puncture melee builds are.. a worse version of viperstrike, which is a garbage skill because.. namelocked melee splash garbage.)

I like the innervate thing, but i am somewhat scared that the mace would become a shock version of oro's tbh. Something like create shocking ground sounds perfect though.

It's also negative double dipping on splash, it would need to switch to 'less attack damage' like multistrike has if we want VS and Puncture to work in AoE role. It would also work if they ever get rid of DoT double dipping as they should, though.

About this, Chris said something in the Minotaur video when he got shocked by the pillar - "getting shocked by that will make you take 30% more damage". If we assume he meant exactly what he said and that the pillar for some reason puts two shock icons on him, it might mean shock is getting nerfed to 15% more damage taken instead of increased but goes back to being stackable. Either that or Chris just messed up a bit in the interview.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Le humble melee bump for those 5 other masochists playing melee to get in on the petition action.

I'd go with shocked ground on hitting personally just for thematic reasons. But it's also "good and bad" in a reflect map laying down the shocked ground can cause a sudden spike in return damage etc, though one cannot argue it wouldn't be a big buff to this weapon given it's other functionality related to shocking.

In light of that, innervation might be more balanced or the leech also applying to lightning damage.
Though the later is rather boring, it has a big impact on the character's survive ability and potential passive tree designs.

Then again, innervation is also pretty "mainstream" a mechanic nowadays.

I'm leaning more towards the leach functionality honestly, in that case you can still go innervate in a link and gather leech on other sources.
And it would allow hybrid use of the mace and full conversion without one of the penalty's usually associated with elemental builds.

I like the shocked ground effect, but at the same time I think the leech effect is amazing... I got an idea to combine them:
10% chance to create shocked ground on hit
Melee and physical leech effects apply to lightning damage against shocked enemies
Another idea would be
You can apply bleed with lightning damage.
Bleeding enemies have a 20% chance to explode for 20% of their maximum life as [not sure yet if lightning or physical] damage.
(Explanation: the electricity causes their blood to boil and eventually lets them explode due to the extreme pressure from their blood turning into steam)
I at least one of the suggestions made so far gets realised. And while we're at it.. the goddess unleashed could need a buff aswell. And 80% of the melee skills. And support gems.

If they would contemplate doing the leech it would have to be 100% up-time, not "get condition y to gain x" because then your not going to invest in it as melee.

The shocked ground is also nice, but i feel it's to nice with the other benefits shocking inherently provides you while wielding this mace. And simply having a chance to shock a boss true shocked ground is nothing to sneeze at, people sacrifice vaal souls for that stuff.

I like the thematic corpse explosion trigger, but making lightning bleed, then proq bleeding enemy's etc i think it might be a hassle to code or get working. I'm trying to provide suggestion that are reasonable and might be achievable in the time limit remaining.

The leech might not even fall into this category though, i know global melee leech exist's in the duelist tree, but transferring all the other nodes to that if you wield this might be a bit much, no clue honestly.

Adding innervate and shocked ground on hit seems straightforward though.
