Incorrect syntax means that when you have long pathnames with spaces (that's the problem). So in that case you would use "blablbla\bla bla\bla.bla". That will fix incorrect syntax.

Agreed, it is slipshod work to release an update that seems to had very little testing. Not an isolated problem either, a lot of users affected, on very common OS like Windows 7/8/10.

Well that isn't the real problem, the real problem is that the so-called 'solution', does not work, therefore it does beg the question - was this even necessary? Why didn't you find the accepted solution for ALL clients (meaning us) before throwing out the update without understanding the consequences.

What's done is now done, better hope you can find a generic solution or you just lost quite a portion of the playerbase.

Got the same problem W7 64x Home extended (Laptop)

Yeah still weird that throws an error using the move command and not using cd command it's the space in Package Cache folder. Anyways stupid from me because I don't even have the specified folder showed in the reddit "solution".

Do I really have to update windows ? I'm sure something's gonna break in the process, that's windows for you :(

HERE IS THE FIX THAT I'VE USED WHICH WORKED FOR ME (WINDOWS 7).

1. CHECK Services to see if you have Windows Update & BITS (aka Background Intelligence Transfer Service)
If they are missing/not working properly
Go Here: http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/files/file/9-registry-network-keys/
If Your OS is not there, you need to find working reg values from elsewhere, either copy them from another working computer with same OS or from another site.

2. After you've downloaded the reg files, Double click bits.reg & wuauserv.reg to update the broken register values with the working one.

Now restart computer and your windows update & bits services should be up n running.

Next, Go Check for updates (this will take an extremely long time if you haven't updated in a while)
Once it starts, I suggest you leave for 30min-1hr do something else, take break (even if it doesn't look like there is any updating being done, it is doing them).

Once you come back, regardless of update status, restart your computer. Upon restart, your computer should be processing the new updates.

Now you should be able to run the vc redistributable 2015.

Hopefully this works for you too.

I think i would much rather wait for GGG to say something about this, since nothing has been said, apart from some crappy reddit link that was questionable...

I think the 'solutions' that are working for some people ie. reddit are the non x64 ones.

Oh and yea I tried that too, same story back to api error again.

Yep tried the run poe as admin, then run, reboot run again - nope.
