cant play game after update 2/29/2016 10:30 pm Update windows??

I have the same issue, however I will not jump through hoops I do not want to jump through.

I will attempt to run after asendency, if the same error pops up then it is farewell.

there is no solution for this. stop playing POE. it a waste of time :( T_T

Just spend entire night on updating windows 8.1 x64 and trying install this VC++ with numerous versions and ways, nothing works.
Currently PoE running only on outdated XP with has only access to 3,3 GB RAM and crash often. So I tired off this.

Possible solution is ONLY on GGG side, rollback and work on this harder?
Not mention - what "genius" have idea of release something so danger on the league very end?!

I dont expect that GGG do something serious with that, as experience show most likely they put blame on players and they PC sides, I really want to be wrong about this, but see this here too many times.

I hope they'll fix it today cause i have so many talisman sets to sell...

the error is "unsupported windows version", if i try to install vc_redist.x64.exe it pops an error. I already downloaded all windows uptades possible.

Hmm. it would be very helpful if we had a DLL pack needed. It`s not hard to run poe in compatibility mode, but runing it million times to find what dlls it needs one by one, finding them in the net and placing in bin folder...

i could have done this... if i had been 10 years younger (pretty sure i have fucked up grammar here)

But now i just want full pack of dlls from GGG. and preferably in patcher allready.

yeah i updated windows (im using 8.1) and i followed all of the steps it says to do for the "fix" i uninstalled poe and reinstalled it aswell and redid all of the steps still not working...really kicking myself for spending money on it

Well GGG update to VS 2015, and i understand that, as developer.
But 2015 c++ studio bring new problems. VS it self install with quests on systems lower than windows 10, and in my product i got this problem already. One of posible fix is to install vc redist https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49984 And second is copy in folder with POE dll's. About zip file with dlls what i copy for my product. It's contain api-ms-win-*.dll from SDK kit for windows 10 and 5 dlls from studio 2015 redist folder. Nothing promised, can't check poe now, but should work. In case if someone think that i add a virus or something else, all dll have a original microsoft digital sign, and can be verified.

make sure that update is installed, it is quite big, and you may need some pre-requisites to be installed beforehand. update everything in windows update until you get that one.

once that is done, the 2015 redist will install just fine.

so yeah, if you havnt done a windows update for a while, you are going to need to.



Also (KB2999226) may also be needed. make sure those are installed

i'm on W7 ultimate 64, 6.1 7600 build with no Service Packs cause i know for years, if something works 100% ok, then i don't fix it with updates! This goes for GGG too!
