Berserk - and why this class should be immediately changed [Long] [it seems 2.3 fixes it all]
" I think that is backwards reasoning. You don't kill them fast because they damage you, they damage you because you forsake defenses for offenses. Berserkers are originally norse warriors - vikings. They thrive on battle and being fearless, they just right in there cleaving a bloody path, as some of the most brutal warriors the world has ever seen, in that primal raw way. Because of this, they should be among the most offensive builds in the game. You wanna increase their damage taken as a result of them focusing so much on offenses, you need to have a much higher damage multiplier(more) than the extra link you can save from replacing fortify on champion(duelist). In my opinion the berserker should be all about damage, blood magic and life leech. Something like half your life leech is instant, and some synergy with blood magic etc, i would like to see that. " Oh... myyy... god. That honestly looks insaanely fun. It's been litereally over a year since i saw a build and thought... wow i really need to do this that looks just too fun. I'm gonna do that! " "pong-pong-pong" is playable in HC. This build is not. So "pong-pong-pong" build is overall better. |

"Bold mine. I think we want the same thing for Berserker, we just have differing views on how to get there. Crack, you need to assume players are metagaming, and factor that into your desired feel. Pain Reaver is a notable which says "Want leech? Kill things." An in-your-face beast would want leech, so the concept works. Aspect of Carnage, on the other hand, says "Want Attack Damage? Don't get hit." Now, the first half of that is a go, no question. But you know who really wants Aspect of Carnage? A Bowserker. Not a Berserker. The class should be about life leech, but primarily life leech on kill (Berserker is not a pure tank build). And the class should be about big damage, but primarily big damage on hit. Yeah, conditions make it harder to use, that's the point - everything about Berserker should scream "fuck ranged, GET IN THERE." To accomplish that you NEED conditions. But GGG can, and should, compensate with big numbers. Aspect of Carnage does not have a condition. It has a drawback, and a caution-inducing one at that. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. well.. thing is that this build is not really expensive
i havent seen the gear but it is most likely the same gear every crit build gets: Rat's nest Maligaro's Virtuosity 2*Diamond rings, Crit necklace 6link chest fluff weapon is one of the following: Doryiani's Catalyst uber-godly crit sceptre with spell and elemental bonuses (worth A LOT) vagan tenderizer with crit and aspd dagger is something with spell damage and global crit (platinum kriss) it is the CoCS gem that makes this build. gem that should get a SEVERE nerf as it makes BOTH melee players and selfcasters look like gullible idiots EDIT: " 100% Attack Damage turned into 40% more Damage. it is still bland but it is at least strong (for its drawback it should be), is no longer deceptive (that was very huge issue for me) and might even make non-melee-players to pick this class. 40% more damage is a nice value for such node on a class entirely built around numbers Last edited by sidtherat#1310 on Feb 19, 2016, 2:24:22 AM

I really rather they made a mixture of increased% and a low more% This is just straight up bland dps fluff. Anyway, nothing so far suggest's to me that GGG is taking this opportunity to decrease the gap between ranged/melee when it comes to positioning/movement and as a result of that clearspeed. it is pretty clear that they think melee players are sturdier and more resilient than glass cannons of the crit side and in theory it even makes some sense what destroys it completely is that this sturdiness means little as killing stuff is just plain better AND safer than taking risks and what kills the tanky glass cannons also pretty easily kills melee tanks so the trend of 'glass cannons get bigger guns, slower melee gets even slower' continues. the melee totem.. it just cements this situation. it might even be powerful (esp coupled with new Mara class) but if it is.. then it is really bad |
