Since when do people not play in standard? In the first set of Q & A questions in Jan Chris said 100k people play perm leagues as their main league and it's a safe bet most of them are standard. How many people will be playing talisman next week? Or the week after? Don't let what people say rustle your jimmies. The let's all shit on standard thing is comparable to the internet shitting on Nickelback and Justin Beiber and Dane Cook, it's popular to dislike it, it's a perception of being too good for it. It's just sad people finding things that dont matter to shit on to make themselves feel bigger.

100k players, yet market feels like a graveyard compared to temp leagues with supposedly smaller playerbase. I dont believe these numbers, either they are false in some manner or huge chunk of these 100k are new players who installed yesterday to check out the game

It IS a dumpster league.
It IS where shit is dumped.
It IS where the economy isn't exactly a friendly thing.

truth, a wise dino-princess you are
I dont see any any key!
The "market" in standard is flooded with items that will never leave it. People have what they want. The stuff that's selling is either being sold to new players or being sold to people with nothing better to do than trade items.

I guarantee the temp league players are on average a younger demographic.

Maybe

For one thing they don't have as many obligations, so they have the time to restart every few months.

Sounds likely.

They also don't have the foresight that adults have, so they have trouble understanding why it is a waste of time to abandon something that has taken effort to build up, or that it is actually more rewarding to play around with previously accumulated resources.

So when I grow up I'll realize that rerolling (stash) is a waste of time?^^

Finally you can see in this thread and others that most temp league players lack the ability to critically think about why they hold their opinions, or if what they are repeating is actually true, or if it is just the popular thing to say. Younger people aren't exactly known for critical thought, but they are known for parroting popular opinions / views so as to fit in. It takes awhile to develop the self confidence to go your own way, and to stand up for what is correct, even if it isn't the popular opinion.

Younger people are also known for more extreme views and for thinking outside the box.

i would love to play standard. but that server is so corrupt that even if i needed to trade for items i wouldn't be able to afford a level 1 skill gem with out Q on it.

If standard was wiped and restarted i would play it hands down.

Why is it that players who dont play standard
comment on changes which would effect temp leagues as well?

Hmm.

I'll tell you what, if I ever see a thread which says "We need an AH for Standard only" I'll be sure to tone it down, if I even say anything.

Stop the lies and start the truths. More than 99% of all items listed in standard are supercheap.

i wonder when people wil lrealize that prices on standard for most of t1 uniques are lower then on temp lagues... what will happen then ?
casuals... they always know better
nothing?

Have you considered that the reason why those t1 items are so cheap on standard might just be because all of those temp leagues players you think are ignorant of this good deal... probably already have all of those t1 items as a result of previous temp league item accumulation?

temp league items are expensive because people actually want them. the moment that stops being true the prices of said items naturally deteriorate to what they are on standard.
