For those that pay attention to US politics or aqua teen hunger force ..

What about Sanders? He is surging a lot like Obama in 2008. He has policies similar to the nordic model (safety net, unexpensive education), he proposes to abolish private prisons, end mass incarceration, make some inmigratory reforms (without doing a open borders policy), etc. Also, he is not bought by PACs, nor a billonaire asshole.

Nah, he complains about the map system being expensive and not skill based, so he, really inside, knows that you can't let the money decide things.

Yeah, Sanders definetely looks like the best option. But as Chomsky said, even in a dream scenario where Sanders becomes president, he won't be able to do anything. You cannot really harm the big capital. It will eat you alive :D

Other than that, we know perfectly fine that it will be Hillary against Trump. Both options are terrible to me. It's just that Trump is beyond terrible. He is in a class of his own.

The Chomsky quote about sanders:

"I'm glad that Sanders is running. A good way to bring important ideas and facts to people. His candidacy might also press the Dems a little in a progressive direction. In our system of bought elections he has scarcely a chance of getting beyond the primaries, and even if by some miracle he were elected he wouldn't be able to do anything, lacking any congressional representatives, governors, etc. As far as I can see he's a thorn in the side of the Clinton machine, which is not a bad thing."

That's pessimistic. If there is a strength to democratic systems, it is that it can be regulated by their own citizens (even with the rigging that happens).

If Sanders can win without donors, there is a chance of moving the behemoth in the right direction. If not, maybe US will fall apart. I hope it doesn't suck that much like the fall of the Roman Empire.

The problem is not "big government" or "corporations", it's citizens not regulating them enough.

Money didn't help a lot the douchebag nobility in the French Revolution. Money is a shitty source of power in the long run, and only morons trust that (or the allmighty market).

What's the price of Martin Luther King or Mahatma Gandhi on a free market? Hell, let's talk about scientists and engineers. Their work is the origin of most the capital, yet the people who profit are others. They are valuable, even if they get a minor fraction of the money.

Don't make a God from markets. They are shitty judges. Markets can determine exchange values but not intrinsic values, and they can and will fail.

Worthless ramble rousers who make losers/lazy feel good about themselves. Poor lazy and unhappy need a hero too. Thats them. And Christ.

Scientist are paid what they are worth too. Most are multi millionaires who make solid inventions people want. Post docs for life are poor because they do nothing for society.

It's really simple. Do a product or service ppl want get rewards in form of currency. By virtue of that currency you already established your worth to society.

More than 500 people you've never heard of have filed paperwork to run for president in 2016 but just one is appearing alongside Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump in some polls: Deez Nuts.
Deez Nuts is running for president
Don't forget to drink your milk 👌

This extends to every profession. This mind frame puts Lil Wayne above giant innovators like Robert Johnson or John Coltrane. Whatever argument anyone might use, is not gonna convince my that Floyd Mayweather deserved to get paid 180million for a single 45min boxing match, while at the same time Chinese people work in Apple factories for 100$ per month, while they are obliged to spend like 70% of their salary on Apple housing and buy food from Apple stores in the factory-city they are forced to live(by contract), and then Apple using Ireland as a fictional base of the company to not pay taxes. Sorry but free markets are just cruel.

That being said, sometimes you just have to be practical. It is naive to beleive that the US would have any other economic system than capitalsism(or coportatism for that matter), no matter if a republican or a democrat is the president. So you can base your vote on other issues, like soscial issues or foregin policy issues(i do not think that any president could make a difference there either, but one could hope). As a person of the left(of the extreme left by the American standards), if the quetion was Hillary against Ron Paul, i would vote for Ron without a second though, despite him being a republican and basically hating his economic views, but Trump is just unacceptable. I hope people in the US will see that. They seem to be getting abit more progressive after Bush.

China is far from a free market. A place where party affiliation get you land and loans. A police state to stamp out competition, labor negotiations, and foreign capital. When I say you're paid what you are worth its with free market in mind. Even USA doesnt have 100% free markets sadly thanks to socialist who want hospitals and doctors to work for free treating people who cant pay and high taxes but it's a lot closer than China.

Floyd Mayweather is 100% paid what he's worth. No one is forcing him to box. No one forcing ppl to pay $18,000 for front row to see him. It's all a free choice.

I neither republican or democrat. Both are hardcore statists. I believe in freedom. Economic and social freedom as long as you're not hurting anyone. eg murder or dumping your sewage in my drinking water.

You need a dose of reality, and to learn basic economics (specially learn about the notion of value). I'll put it blunt, what you say is pseudoscience masked as free market economics.

The U.S. doesn't have a free market because just like China it has a central bank. Ever heard of the federal reserve? Do you know what it does and why it was created? How come all those financial institutions weren't allowed to collapse in 2008 genius? When financial institutions were bailed out with trillions of taxpayer money in 2008, was that not socialism?

And you think the reason the U.S isn't a "free market" is because really poor people get discounted health care rates? Someone should be ashamed of themselves.
