Why don’t we remove trading altogether?

A self found league would just be a waste of resources for GGG

what they could do is add some kind of self found tag to give self found folks their own ladder
I dont see any any key!

This is the best solution. I know that a number of players enjoy trading, it just seems that to most it seems like a hassle more than anything.

You dont have to trade. Its not a must. This forum is full of people who claim a SFL would be great but no one knows why they need it.

If you want access to certain builds you do have to trade. With the way drops work right now a player who wants to do self-found can't reasonably expect to obtain certain build-enabling uniques. Even uniques that aren't particularly rare or expensive.
Can we stop these topics, it's so annoying to assume you are talking as the majority. I love trading, i would quit if this game goes diablo mode. Why don't you go there, everything you want already implented. Trade is the beating heart of socializing.

This is due to my own ignorance and lack of understanding on how ladders work, but wouldn't that kinda hurt the market if these people are in the same league as people who aren't in the self-found ladder? This is a legit and curious question.

From my understanding, a self-found ladder player can possibly saturate the standard league market with rare items that drop a lot more commonly for them compared to people not in the same ladder.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Not sure if your comment makes any sense. How do self found players affect some virtual made up economy?

How you dare to tell me what I have to and what I don't? :) Sorry, it is a must for particular goals, say I need 10 eternals, anuhart found 1? He have 2 x lvl100 chars, played alot in other words, so eternals basically impossible to get as self-found. I found its as an issue, but feel free to tell me what I am not forced to trade. (btw I have 3 x lvl100 and found like 2 eternals, I do trade).

If you do SFL with same rules as it is with non SFL, with drop rates balanced around trading, with soo much RNG in crafting, with RNG-gated content, that indeed pretty pointless. Does not change the fact you can make SFL with separate rules, obviously with buffed drop rates and such. So you would not be able to tell "no one knows why they need it", they obviously would know why: able to craft gg item in 1/2 months as SF, able to do Uber regulary as SF, etc. But yeah, such rules would probably attract too much ppl making fragmentation even worse than now.

I play 99% self found. Not because I have huge principles, but because I find it a lot more fun to achieve thing myself rather than buy other peoples achievements.

But in a game, where the ladder leagues are "the thing", you just can't remove trading. The amount of bitchin' from traders not being able to acquire all the best items during the ladder leagues would be tremendous. The kids today demands to be able to get EVERYTHING when they want it. Buy everything. Nothing should be hard to get. Just farm those orbs, and buy what you want.

Understand me right, I'm not against trading. A lot of people like trading more than playing. Let them have it. Trading SHOULD yield an advantage. It's just the balance that's a little screwed in PoE.

Yup that's why everyone in 3 month leagues has a shavs, a mjolner and pretty much everything one would want within a week.....oh wait.

On the other hand, what's stopping non self-found players from joining a self-found ladder and raking in the profits brought on by increased item drops? As far as I understand, so long as the ladders are in the same league, they have the same access to the market.

I'm not unwilling to admit I'm wrong, so please enlighten me on what good a self-found ladder would do compared to a league.

I get what you are saying, but it sounds abit foolish. They wouldn't have acces to the same market, SF players wouldn't be able to trade anything. Cause, you know, that's kinda the whole point of being SF....
