Protecting your "PRECIOUS" economy ain't working so give up and fix desync instead

Please, you know I am right in that there is a measureable difference (even if we dont know it because ggg wont post it) between steam and non steam players.

You are just one of those people who like to say "hey ggg the game is going to hell because (insert reason) and here is my proof (insert steam charts)" and dont want to give up on it.

Also you have no proof that steam and non steam users carry the same proportions so you can shove your own "proof or gtfo" argument down your own throat.

You have it backwards, but believe what you want. The evidence is on my side.

Please provide said evidence then? I dont remember seeing any actual proof that steam and non steam users have the same ratios.
Would you two just fuck and get it over with? The sexual tension is making everyone uncomfortable.

FWIW, according to Chris, the breakdown is 1 steam user for every three non-steam.

And if that is true it was also said at release that it was 50:50 so that right there shows a difference.

Also, to add
In this thread http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1181189/filter-account-type/staff Chris said that ~4000 players cheated and that made up about 3.5% active players who had logged in during the investigation period.

Just so we're comparing like to like, that's ~114k unique players in a <investigation period> versus steam stats which show us currently active players in a <day>.

It's kinda impossible to turn one number into the other unless we make crazy assumptions like "everybody plays every day" or "everybody only plays one day per investigation period". The real number is somewhere in between.

Would also need numbers like "how many times per investigation period do steam players play?" versus the same number for non-steam players.

Oh and then probably something to de-duplicate "main" and "mule" accounts to reduce that number to actual users instead of just accounts.

thanks, I am not actually using Steam and haven't ever looked at those Steam charts so wasn't sure what is on them.

I'm glad you realized what I was going to say.

Chris said that 3.5% of ALL players cheated during that period.

~4k players is about 3.5% of all players.

The 8k figure quoted for Steam was average concurrent Steam users. Players on at the same time--not total players.

Thus, we still don't have a way to tell what ratio of Steam users make up the total.

Besides, I established earlier that if Steam users were in the minority (which I find dubious), it just hurts your case that much more.

"Demographics" aren't solid ground to stand on because we have no demographical data to compare, so Occam's Razor strikes gain--use the hypothesis that relies on the fewest assumptions. Also, it's better to work with limited data than none.

He's not my type. I'm into smart people.

Also, could you provide a link to quote? Otherwise it's just hearsay and meaningless.
