Unique items that could use some love

I've seen a couple CI (+Aegis Aurora) builds with this chest, though it's probably better to simply use a higher ES chest.

The life roll indicates it is meant for non-CI.

I could see a build working that uses life+ES with Life-Leech and ES-Recovery (again probaly Aegis Aurora).
This way some of the elemental damage bypasses ES and "gives lifeleech something to do".

Ehh summoners are actually heavily gear dependent. It is morr accurate to say SRS are not gear dependent. But traditional summoners are heavily reliant and terrible items like montreguls which dramatically reduces your DPs midnight bargain which is unusable unless you spec for es and waste an aura slot on discipline. And the chober and queens are awful . but really as anyone who has played SRS or dominating bow can tell you... Zombies spectrs and skeletons are shit in comparison. Hell you can solo uber atziri with a 3l dominating blow . normal summoners have trouble just getting to her. So I'm putting all summoning items except uller on this list because they deserve it on pure principle. Because simple math tells you that 40 SRS or 80 dominated monsters will outclass minion that have a soft cap of 2 8 and 12. Its silly joke

Played SRS and zombie/spectre summoner. Did Atzi (not uber) on both, sure SRS is more convenient (losing spectres is fking annoying) but hey, not all specs can do equally well everywhere. Spectre summoner does great job MFing regular maps. Anyway, if unique doesn't last till Atzi or maps or isn't generally popular with an endagme it doesn't mean they suck. Mon'tregul's Grasp should be discussed since I haven't heard anyone actually using it since the snapshot fix.

Yeah, for CI it's basically a placeholder till you find a better one (at best it's 25% more ehp against elemental damage, pretty sure 600+ es chest will boost your es by more than 25% and that will affect all kinds of damage types). That Aegis thing could actually work okay.

Anyway...

Is it dead? Useless? Anyone experienced with Mon'tregul's after snapshot fix?
3l dominating blow works because of the base monsters in the atzirimaps . each on is easily a match for a fully leveled zombie and you can get 80 of them.

Montreguls has but one use and that is if your zombies have trouble surviving atziri blasts. But it is a massive loss of DPs. 40% less in some cases. Its a massive trade off... Always was.

If you have 9k zombies through empower then montreguls has no purpose. It won't save your zombies from the chaos aura that the 3x atziri bosses poo out and a zombie only item is a limited item in an ocean of limited items. Hell I have two midnights and two Montreal and I use a lifesprig as it is supirior .

But I am also life based. If you are es based you need midnight to offset the loss of an offensive aura (since you use discipline)

i dont need to comment that piece of garbage

yup ggg trying and failing to sell leech rate as a viable alternative to vaal pact / atziris ovenmits of opness

that poor item need too much work but hey at least it has life and no acrobatics . thus logically making it superior to hyrri's on ir builds O.O

saying a supporter made it is some what missleading , unless the supporter comes out and says out right that is exactly what they wanted then i remain skeptical since alot of supporters have had their ideas changed significantly .

none the less i will correct my original stance. poor supporter though

The supporter who made it was also shooting for more interesting mechanics. Chaos penetration being one...

Either that is an indication that chaos penetration gem is coming soon, or GGG just wants to keep chaos as it is for now.
