This whole thread... about this... and it turns out you don't even know that rarity and quantity on player gear doesn't effect map drops.

Also, map pools are really much easier to sustain now with FM and the intro of Ambush mod into the core game... like WAY easier than just a month or two ago.

Started in Rampage, trying out the new Cleave. made it to lvl 56. found 2 chaos and 1 unique.. ouch, bad rng..

Needed a new weapon to keep up with content, but no currency = no progression...

Started up a mf Flame totem witch. lvl 61 now. loads of uniques, around 15 chaos found and tons of other orbs..

So now I can buy a better weapon, until I probably reach end game maps, then its back to grinding my MF witch to get currency again.. ugh..

Really, get rid of MF GGG! let us ALL have the same chances of finding items.

Orb drops do not depend on iir and iiq is almost gone...

The MF was already nerfed pretty strong and it is fine now. You either nerf MF into oblivion until there is no reason wearing it like D3 did, or you have what is in PoE.

In Diablo 2, there was a stat/mod called "Magic Find", which increased your chance to find magic/rare/set/unique items. It was the same thing as IIR in PoE. Many of us played D2 and look at PoE as its spiritual successor, so we tend to use "MF" and "MFing" (wearing lots of gear with IIR and running bosses or areas for good drops).

There wasnt any nerf to IIR they just removed IIQ gem and IIQ stats on rares. It really was a pretty minor nerf because the chance of getting a unique/rares (IIR) didnt get nerfed at all.

Since PoE is balanced about high MF culling party play you either play in groups, farm e.g. dominus with a runner/dmg-dealer and a high MF culler and get tons of stuff every 1-2 minutes or you farm alone for days or even weeks and get NOTHING at all...

you're totally right the system is pretty ridiculous..

farming with IIR/IIQ wont just give you more uniques and rares to use and sell it even gives you at least 10 times as much currency because of vendor recipe


not even talking about multiaccount farming cheats...

There is clearly a huge advantage playing mf over clearspeed

I wouldn´t mind if they remove IIR completely from game or atleast cut it in halves.

I play solo and self found so for me, I have both. An MF'er who I love to play. Sit my ass down for DOminus farming all day is a nice way for me to spend my sunday.
I also have my 'main' which is fed by the mf'er.

Only advice I would give is for people to play their own game and not be concerned with others. If you don't like party mf'ing etc then just don't party. I don't get why people let themselves be so bothered when the choice is available to everyone.

I don't get the grief here , mf already has its down sides.

even amongst cullers it is an established fact that stacking over 300 iir suffers massive diminishing returns. using the number 600 might seem like an omg too much iir nerf nerf moment.

but you must understand that ggg has nerfed it , but they purposefully have made the mechanics behind iir a mystery for us.


you will get the most out of irr if you just have 100.

not only that but those people wiht 600 irr are either wealthy as sin or are made of tissue paper and wafers and die to a strong breeze.


it takes alot of over compensation on the part of defense to make a true culler work. and at the end of it all when you finally have 600 irr your killing speed is so slow that people with 100 irr clear 20 times faster than you do.

sorry but 600 iir wont make up for clearing 10+ times faster. it just wont.
