The median income of Path of Exile population.

Items do not count as income, but rather investments. In this scenario we will consider items to be stocks because just like stocks they run the danger of depreciation. With this said we now take a look at currency and consider them for what they are. Whether it's gold, precious stones... We will consider them as such.

Calculating your wealth, setting up your portfolio:

1. Poe.xyz is a very good place to find the average value of your items.
2. Exile stats is another pretty accurate site to find current values.

So what is considered very poor, poor, medium, rich and super rich?


20% Very Poor: No exalts, no items of value... This is the type of person that has little knowledge of the system and is just starting.

40% Poor: 1-99 exalts, some items of value... This person has exalts however runs the risk of being very poor.

30% Medium: 100-499 exalts, some items of high value... This person has a difficult time reaching rich status, buys on impulses irresponsibly, however does have a trading thread.

9% Rich: 500-999 exalts, many items of very high value... This person understands the economy very well and is a master at trading and flipping...

1% Super Rich: 1000 exalts, this person has retired... Congratulations.


The PoE economy fascinates me...

I must be dirt poor then...

I figured it would go something like this:

<1 exalt = very poor
1-10 exalts = poor
10-100 exalts = medium
100-500 exalts = rich
500+++++ exalts = god tier 1%er

there is no way someone with 400 exalts would be "medium" since at that point they could easily buy a mirrored weapon which as we know is not very many people.

Very poor. But I play outside of the economy, so it doesn't matter.

But standard is meh, and nobody plays hc. 3-4 month leagues or nothing.

I giggle with glee every time I use an exalted orb the moment I find it. Somewhere, a dev is giving me the thumbs up.
