The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change. Welcome to PoE. Last edited by Pewzor#2343 on Mar 18, 2015, 4:45:46 AM

in standard:
- of all the t1 (legacy) uniques i got a bringer of rain - no mirrored items (lol) - 2 exalted pure, 4 divine (i yolo alot or give them away) no eternal orb or mirror ever found - hundreds of tabs filled with crap - one ilevel 68 6-linked 2h axe torment gave me 3 6-linked items from boxes (2 corrupted chests and a low level staff), found 3 exalt where i gave 2 away as a thank you for items which helped me when i started late. so ... pretty poor. do i think i did something wrong? hell, no. had alot of fun playing rather than getting "rich". age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill! I guess I am in the medium class, about 100 ex (thanks to selling that lucky shavs) and a couple of useful legacy items. I do have a shop thread but just to sell what drops for me. No flipping or currency trading.
But then I only play standard between leagues...so I am back to very poor every league! Last edited by Suni#5768 on Mar 18, 2015, 6:26:34 AM

i think a lot of the 1k+ exalt players are those who were around since closed/open beta and had that experience advantage right after the character reset. at least speaking for myself, that league immediately after the char wipe (i forget which one) i amassed what is now equivalent to about 3k exalts worth on standard. that doesn't account for everything else since... but its all just collecting dust anyway. the permanent leagues just aren't as fun for me :(

There is also a conundrum with everyone... This implies to the entire population. When a player finally achieves the items for a certain build two outcomes occur:
1. I love it, would like to perfect it... OR 2. I hate it... I want to try another build... "Build" is such a cliche term that I prefer to consider it a "class," on its own merits. It's so important to save and know the market especially if you're bias on which character you like to play with. However if you love your characters persona... And decide to just concentrate on one, you will find yourself on the poor side of the spectrum. It's EXPENSIVE to change classes, granted there are niche cheap builds, but they fail in comparison to that "cool," and "effective" factor we all look for. There are those players that have multiple characters, but I think we can all agree eventually something will tire out. If you are part of a SFL don't be surprised if you're left behind... There are just those items you will never acquire based that they are legacy or will never drop. "Another... Solwitch thread." AST

I am poor according to your definition, but I never try to get rich, I only play challenge leagues, so everything that I have left in the end of the league is going into the void. I spend my currency on things I need to complete challanges or kit up my char to get high level. Dont need to have currency in my stash unless im saving up for an item.
