*UPDATED (Potential fix discovered)* Bad FPS with AMD cards.

Game runs ok on my Nvidia card, but the performance is nowhere near as good compared to most other games.
As I said before, PoE runs better on my old Nvidia GTX 560Ti than on my (more than twice as fast) OCed Radeon 7970. One guy from GGG (I believe it was Rhys?) also said that AMD ignored Jonathans(?) inquiries about optimization on their cards, so it's not a surprise that GGG is in bed with Nvidia.

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
my GTX 660 was bogging my system down, i think my power supply is not sufficient. but my ati 5750 runs poe no problems outside of the usual 'new' monster load in a zone.
Hey...is this thing on?
according to GGG, when they asked for help from AMD about optimization / bugs for their cards, AMD didn't even bother to reply.

so don't blame GGG, blame AMD.

If this is the case then I am pretty disappointed in AMD. I just sent them a support email explaining this issue and their potential loss of a future customer when it comes to upgrades, included screenshots and let them know GGG has contacted them about this. Maybe if enough people do it as well, this can be resolved finally.

not the worst bed partner but i do find the sys req for poe in general to be ridiculously high.

One of the joys of piss poor optimization.

you need more ram op, i got 128gb right now, my game wont run but whatever I dont care, i got 128gb ram

Spoiler
on a more serious note, i haven't experienced any problems with my ati cards, nor my nvidia :)

PoE doesn't run well on my Nvidia card in zones with the atmospheric weather effects, either. The engine is just not well optimized, sadly.

Very broad statement that is quite wrong. I can run 2 clients on my Nvidia card without even a slight drop in frames. Rarely go below 60 to be blunt.

How old is your graphics dinosaur...err card?
Thanks for all the fish!
AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series here, and I have absolutely no problem running PoE on max graphics settings. Some things (stage 4 Incinerate, CoC builds, etc) cause me to go from 59-60 FPS (v-sync) to ~30, but the game is still perfectly playable with that, as long as my internet is behaving (I typically get ~40 ping, the fps drops don't change that, but my microwave sure does :/ stupid wi-fi).

Read the dev manifesto dealing with client performance, http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/893012/filter-account-type/staff

I think we'll all see some significant performance improvements coming in the 1.2 patch, or sometime soon.

The performance issues aren't platform dependent, they're inherent to the game. Personally, I don't see too many performance issues outside of full parties.
