*UPDATED (Potential fix discovered)* Bad FPS with AMD cards.
TRY THE FIX HERE! http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/948185
" (forgive me for the way I worded this. I was pretty drunk at the time and fed up with the lag, but really this needs serious fixing of some sorts) This game runs like absolute horseshit on most ATi chipsets (My PC runs POE at a max of 15 FPS, runs Watch_Dogs, a game released about a week ago silky smooth, at max settings, as well as other games) Seriously google it. You will see people with ATi card bitching about awful frames in this game. Recently they offered nvidia cards as a prize. I have often thought about switching to nvidia cards just because this it the only game I enjoy and it seems to only run well on nvidia cards. Is this the point? I can not afford to make such a switch. I would much rather just buy a new game, would be a lot cheaper. Ultimately I just want to know the truth behind all of this. Will I ever be able to enjoy POE on a PC that is more than capable of running every game except POE without changing brands? " Good for you. Me, and most of my friends that run POE drop to about 10 FPS or lower when in a party of more than 1 person. We play games together, while we do not share the same chipset we share the same brand, ATi. Look it up on Google. It is a real thing. This game needs to be optimized badly. I have an AMD card, most of the time it runs flawless, it also run other games under higest quality settings without any frame rate drops.
BUT god, when it decides to trigger blue screen of death or decides to divide right side of my screen and move it to the leftmost part. Yes that's the time I recognize that the fault is mainly AMD's shitty drivers and not PoE because I experience the same shit happen in most of the games I play. So what do we say? Fuck AMD and make a wise decision and buy nvidia next time. /rant. No longer a forum dweller, please use PM for contact purposes.

Everyone knows that this is the only way to compete nowadays, as teh actual quality is very much homogenous between these two developers, so I wouldn't be surprised, and will not even thinks less of them for it, even though I use amd/ati too and experience problems in poe.

It was just yesterday that I´ve read about the nvidia practices against AMD. Yes, my first thought was "and PoE is on the same train".
Unfortunately I will probably get a new card end of the year and to say the truth I would prefer an AMD ( as I have already) . And if it is only because I don´t like these business practices of Nvidia. Sad that GGG is doing business with them. |

" Just follow my lead and buy a new game. There is this game where you can reap souls. It runs perfect on ATi cards. I am the world's best path of exile player, I strong I kill all monster with amazing power

PoE doesn't run well on my Nvidia card in zones with the atmospheric weather effects, either. The engine is just not well optimized, sadly.
