You're lying. Either you were wearing the tricorne, or someone in your party was. If you honestly think you found a tricorne in Merveil's lair without the person who made the killing blow wearing a tricorne, then report it to support as a bug. Srs.

You are acting like you are the one that designed the item and created the recipe to get it.
But normally even supporters don t know the recipe for items.

Just farm the dam merveil without all those things. Rng is rng, no need tricorne.

No dev has ever sent me an email telling me how to get rods, nor would they, it's not how they roll. Furthermore, my first request for my unique was to design a unique rod, and I was told I wasn't allowed because they don't want troll uniques in the game (you can argue about that all day long, but it's what they said, I still have the email). It has also been noted that SotS wasn't a supporter designed unique. Legend has it that it was designed and crafted by the great Jabberjaws himself, though I wouldn't know as I wasn't there.

The reason I'm so certain is because EVERY single person who found a rod has admitted that they were either wearing the tricorne when it dropped, or that they got it from coward's trail. The only exception was one guy who claimed to have found multiple rods, but failed to link a single one when asked.

Again, you're either lying or mistaken.

Well I found a rod and this is the only items I was wearing when I killed merveil act 1 normal. I was farming for a dam tabula since about 3hours. then the rod dropped.

I was alone, no party, no tricorne.

The only related fishing accessorie I had previously in my stash was 2 feathers.
Also I have a race reward tricorne in my race stash I never took out.



Imo, this thing can drop without a tricorne, and I bet it dropped because they changed the drop rarity thing from last patch. It was probably rare like a kaom heart and now it is easier to get.

I'm with Monsta on this one. the reason I am almost certian is that the ONLY skill you have that does anything is searing bond. and even with the two totems passive, to farm Merveil you would have some other support auras/skills socketed..even if you were not using them for the fight.

I honestly have no idea whether Monsta is dead serious or trolling. He's certainly acted as if he's one of the foremost experts on fishing for quite some time in the forums. However, I've always assumed fishing was one big in-joke, and thus "expert fisherman" claims were humor posts. I have no idea how to react to this revelation that one can have a serious discussion about viability of fishing (or rod-farming) methods.

I am level 63
My SB does 5050dps

I farmed merveil for tabula, a level 0 item that can drop in any normal area.
My rod is level 8 ilevel 17

A few problems with your story bro:

1. You've been talking about rods since long before you ever found one, constantly claiming that it was all troll the whole time and telling others that they have no use, even when you couldn't possibly have known that first hand.

2. You found your rod no later than April 9th, yet now almost 2 months later you still claim to have the exact same shitty gear readily available to show everyone.

3. In this thread you're claiming you got it off her in normal, yet in another thread you claim it was in cruel. Which is it? They can't both be true.

4. In this thread you accept the truth; you don't know how to fish, you don't care, you just want to sell it. That doesn't mean rods don't do anything, it just means that at the time of posting, you hadn't tried.

5. I think you've now worked out that they actually do have a use. The rod you have now is the same as the one you linked almost 2 months ago, but it's been exalted multiple times and divined. You wouldn't have done that unless you realized there was a point to doing so.

In summary, I call bull. You realized I'm right when you got the drop while wearing an eternalled tricorne, and now you're pretending I'm wrong to reduce the number of rods being found, thereby boosting the resale value of your rod which is all you seem to care about.

-Got a farming toon level 63, used for farming, I use him to farm only.
I have a toon level 95, main toon, I level him and play the game with it.

unlike you, my profile is open, you can check the toons I have, you can also go in poestatistic and see by yourself my level 63 did not level from 63 since ages until 2 days ago (ign honorable).
Don t know that the problem about having a toon used only to farm max merciless.

(So I entered the concealed cavity of Mira... in cruel, and after beating my fishing rod on her, she took her last swallowing and died , not much dropped.) I have shit humor I admit... It was moved in gameplay help lolz.

-Rod was not eternaled, I just tried to scour it to get the unique rod, so that stats changed, nothing more.
