Builds feel ike spamming 1 or 2 buttons.

The idea of the gems is cool, but since you dont have set moves for classes, the builds seem to have no synergy. It feels like spamming 1 or 2 buttons with another in between them. Combat gets boring quickly. Drops are also a issue, they suck. I have a 38 marauder and a 28 shadow, between the two of them I have not gotten any interesting drops. Game is getting boring fast. Funny how loot games these days dont want fun loot to drop, we have to"grind" endlessly for a unique, and maybe it will be good, seems like D3 all over again but with clunky combat
I see. Tell me. What makes loot "fun" to you?

Are you using IIR and IIQ?

Sounds like you want Dance Dance Revolution with enemies that drop loot from The Price is Right.
Sounds like ARPGs are not for you. Basically every ARPG is "spam this skill to grind numbers so you can grind even higher numbers". Sounds dumb but it's fun to some people :)
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
My level 46 Templar still uses a chain belt that is only lvl 2. I have not any good chain belts from looting that can top my current one.
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Just having a lvl 38 character is pretty much like playing the tutorial in most other RPGs, fun starts in end gaem content.

Vendors, crafting?

Why is no one commenting on builds feeling like button spamming? I could deal with crap drops more easily if the combat was actually fun.

It's an Action RPG if you don't like continuously clicking monsters and smashing buttons it's simply the wrong genre for you.

I tried crafting, and no luck so far. I got the lvl 2 chain belt from the vendor (reward) way back in act 1 normal. The next one which was also another reward turn out to be disappointing.

It's also important to understand that the actual 'killing' part of an ARPG is not even half of the overall gameplay experience.

There's the theorycrafting, the item acquisition, the skill configurations. The testing. The failure. The re-testing.

Technically chess is just moving 16 pieces on the same board every single time, and 8 of those do the same damn thing as each other.

An extreme example, to be sure, but the point is clear: a good game is so much more than its immediate execution.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
