Anyone seen my fail stamp... I am going to be quite busy so I'll just send it to blizzard... I hope they don't F*CK it up... or lose it in their train of thought.

I am just completely baffled by the outcry from so many people after this announcement. You can go to garage sales for a month looking for antiques, then when you find one sell it on ebay, and ebay takes a listing fee and a cut of the profit. Its called a middleman, they facilitate the trade so they have every right to take a cut.
People with more money than you can, and in most cases will have nicer things than you. That's just a fact of life that needs to be accepted rather than living a life of jealousy. POE is going to be big, we all know that. There will be accounts and items sold on third party sites, you can bet your ass. People with the money will be able to get what they want, regardless of in game implementation of ways to do so. Companies and businesses make money. That's the idea. No profit, no business, no product. Diablo 2 support going down the shitter? No profit, no product. I for one am happy about the new system. It will allow money flow for support. Just as the vanity shop (which I will gladly support) in POE will allow GGG to keep supporting their game. | |

Please everyone SHORTER POSTS... Just because you have something really long doesn't mean you'll get into beta... not that all of you or myself doesn't want to but isn't trying to(?) (God I hope that makes sense).
We all want to become part of the game, but we don't want to waste peoples time if we can shorten our posts... I have a lot of work to do myself, I'll try to keep it short & sweet from now on. -Cybrim I love virtual brutality so save it for the Mobs...

" This doesn't need to exist and has no place in games or any competition for that matter. If you want to be good at something then work at that something. Otherwise it's no different then hacking the gear. You didn't earn it- but you have it anyways. Blizzard is in the wrong here for opting to capitalize the black market rather than combat it. It shows real character. Greed. That's all there is to it. I really wonder how the economy is going to turn with everything worth anything being sold for $$ and things that could take months to find going up for a few bucks. Look at D2, you can buy HRs for a buck yet never find them in a legit manner. <Dregs of Theopolis>

Think about it this way: KILL ALL NOOBS, Slaughter them all if you play the game, they will buy something, help them and they will learn the value of hard work... otherwise they'll just buy $#!+...

I live near some hookers are you suggesting I do this instead of work for a new way to earn money? Hmmm GTA doesn't have an alignment system so hell yeah!

Stop being naive. I know this isn't going to happen but someone has to say it.
When you get some more experience and think about the situation from a non-emotional standpoint you will realize there are many good and valid points that support the auction house's existence and few drawbacks. Blizzard has made several very strong arguments, but people just pretend not to read them. People talk like RMT wouldn't happen if there was no auction house. Reality check: It will happen anyways. People talk like this auction house will now let rich kids buy better items than someone who worked hard for it. Reality check: Rich kids have been doing this in every game ever. It isn't just starting now with the auction house, it's always been this way, it always will be. Stop crying about rich kids getting ahead of you when this auction house doesn't change a bloody thing. It will also be this way in PoE. Games don't exist in a damn vacuum, RMT will always come into play in every game where you can trade items (third party sites). People need to THINK about how this affects their minute to minute play experience. The answer is it doesn't. Who gives a damn if someone has bought better items than me. There's ALWAYS someone with better items than me, nothing has changed. I am still hacking away at monsters with the gear I found, I am still doing my own thing, what others do is inconsequential. I'll only interact with players for the space of one quest/game/party, after that I'll never see them again. Nothing. has. changed. 90% of the people discontent with the change have not bothered to read all the details to understand the situation fully, are actively ignoring the facts, are too biased (eg. Blizzard are capitalist pigs) to do any critical thinking, and/or are too immature to realize the true effect of the system. Here's one example of a fact people have ignored. "PVP is ruined because people will just buy items and stomp me.". The answer is no. Just no. There is a matchmaking system for PVP, you won't be put up against people the system doesn't think you're ready for. You will never be put up against some guy with uber gear that he bought. |

That sounded really non-emotional to me, I'm Sold... okay not really. Think about this like a politician and yeah it's okay, it's also okay to cheat on your wife do drugs then turn around and deny it in time for election season for family values...
However if you have a soul the correct answer is NO, this is the same answer Diablo 2 players faced from Blizzard, Blizzard just gave up under black market pressure when they could have shut down their servers and erased everyone's S#it and left the characters untouched... It sounds like a plan to me, don't F*ck with the system as it stands, I am fine if my equipment disappears because of this stuff, I can go get more anytime I play (note that only equipment that was traded should disappear). I had a friend that played WoW he sold some guy stuff he claimed he had, the guy bought the account turns out my now ex-friend (for several reasons... mostly woman issues) cheated the guy out of his money, it will happen to all who buy that is a fact of life, you will get screwed if you don't put in the work. You can't tell me that every item that is for sale exists, you can't tell me that because you have less time to spend on a hobby that you DESERVE to be at the same STAGE (Area, Level, Equipment Standard) that all of your friends who don't have jobs and only play games are at... in fact if you do have a job you ARE BETTER THAN THEM SO ACT LIKE IT, BE RESPONSIBLE. It should be like the pokemon games, PLAYER ID assigned POKEMON, why? So if you don't respond to your Messages about the items and if they were traded fairly then they go back to the original player's mailbox... why not? Trade in-game only!

Of course it's inevitably going to happen. So is duping, botting, hacking, exploitation or any dishonorable method of character progression. That doesn't warrant making any of those a game feature.
Blizz could have been more proactive against the sales of items for $$, but they decided to make it mainstream and take profit from it instead. The difference is now it will be a lot more prevalent. As far as I'm concerned, it's the equivalent of including a hero editor with the game. It makes any hard time and effort legitimate players put in meaningless. <Dregs of Theopolis>
