Poe XYZ Broke the trade

I often base my price on lowballer in xyz when i'm SELLING xD
bro dealz!
Exile is an illusion, exile!
Undercut, advertise in more than one area (huge friends list maybe, and guild mates), and always be nice and respectful. It's just a game no need to get heated over buying and selling. What would you rather do with those mid to low tier items? Keep them for 2-3 weeks and possibly more to squeeze 3chaos out of it? Or would you rather move product quickly for 1-2 chaos and be rolling in the dough so to speak. Update that shop thread often, post buyouts if you can and have an easy to manage shop. When your shop evolves into a higher tiered shop most likely you will get a lot of PMs from people who don't really know the true worth of the expensive item in question, and eventually you will get a potential buyer who can actually haggle at said items price point, and then both parties can come to an agreement.

You saying poe.xyz broke the trade, and I am saying it fixed it, and alleviated a lot of frustration.

I love pie.
Without poe.xyz i would never had broken my self found vow....

At first i was ashamed to trade.... now im happy when i find chaos orbs to get some gems and gear im too lazy to find....

(thanks to everyone making my poison archer possible)

If gear upgrades actually dropped in a reasonable time frame I wouldn't see a need to buy them, but since the game is balanced around trading it's either trade or quit.

But they do. It is just that the notion of upgrades has completely changes since XYZ came in.

An upgrade is an upgrade regardless of XYZ's existence. I played a self-found Marauder in beta, quit somewhere in A3M (not sure if I even killed Piety) because I got tired of running around in the same crappy gear despite farming my ass off for hours on end.

Here's one of my first posts after I came back for release (and bought a new weapon):

Anyway, I gotta say I'm not happy with the way things seem to work. You're pretty much required to partake in trade if you want to equip your char with halfway decent stuff. I'm not even talking about ultra-rare legendaries, but simple rares that would be an upgrade over your old stuff. My main (lvl 70) is still using a bunch of lvl 40-50 armor pieces which aren't even that good, but nothing better drops for him.

Killing an epic boss like Dominus should reward something awesome for your character at least once in a while. Getting a pile of vendor trash for your effort is just lame and takes the fun out of a game like this. If I wanted to shop for all my gear I'd play EVE instead.

Ironically, this is exactly what I do now. I benched that char, made a few alts, 90% of the gear they use is bought. I'm not going through that unrewarding grind again.
Shop closed until further notice. Check out my Dominus musical tribute instead:

The solution that Marvel Heroes (and now D3 copied) uses make trading near to worthless. But to me, that's not a solution either. You fall in the complete opposite territory where there is no potential for trading or sharing items with friends. Thus making it a pure solo game.

D2 had gotten that right, though partly with the help of SoJ duping. You could play D2 solo/self-found with consistent success (bosses had distinctive loot tables, so you knew where to go and farm), and if you wanted something faster, or wanted something very specific, you could trade for it. And not only the über-hardcore traded in D2. There were forums, trading games, and trading channels.

Everyone is trying to re-invent the wheel and ends up with square blocks. PoE is no exception.

There wouldn't be any trade in this game without XYZ in the first place, so no.

I'm one of those people who would leave the game without POE.XYZ.IS

I'm already at endgame, have logged close to 1500 hours, and my stash fills up very quickly from MFing. Without POE.XYZ.IS and its ability for buyers to find my items quickly, I would probably need 10000 stash tabs from the items/orbs that pile up.

Fuck no am I paying $$$ to GGG for more stash tabs just because they can't implement an equally good trading system as POE.XYZ.IS

It's not quite that bad. It's more like "I have no patience and want to unload my item(s) immediately, but I think it's unfair I need to undercut even the lowballers in order to do so."

You are still allowed to place a higher price on items than the current lowball price. You just need to understand that those items will not sell quickly. They probably won't sell until after all the lower-price items have sold (which also means trade chat isn't a good vehicle for advertisement). Placing a higher price on an item requires patience, as well as a confidence that the market is currently misjudging demand and thus undervaluing the item.
