Poe XYZ Broke the trade
" Drops which in turn GGG determines by factoring what gear is reasonably available via trading, and the more available and easier it is to obtain said loot the more drops in the wild from both mobs and breakables will diminish and the games balance skewed toward the top end of gear and/or best rolled gear. It is basic bread and butter loot laws of every MMO. =P Last edited by Temper#7820 on Mar 30, 2014, 2:52:59 PM

" actually, GGG explicitly stated that drops are balanced around trade. this means the more efficient trade gets, the shittier your drops become. so yeah, you're wrong. " basically this Last edited by Veruski#5480 on Mar 30, 2014, 3:05:38 PM

" So you feel if the indexer didn't exist, they would bump drop rates? I honestly believe that the indexer is the LIFEBLOOD of this game. Their current trade system is so digusting that many many people would quit if the drop rates stayed the same and the indexer went away. Hell, even with the indexer, I get fustrated trying to trade sometimes. I would rather go back to paying 15$ a month for WoW or play D3 then play PoE without the indexer if there isn't a SFL. That is 100% how I feel about the matter. " They have stated for over a year, they have been working on implimenting a newer, better trade system. You believe they will lower the drop rates when they finally finish the new trade? Seeing how it will make trade more efficient. What would be the point? People will notice and they will quit. The indexer does what GGG for some reason can't do theirselves. Make their ALL IMPORTANT trading TOLERABLE. Its not even good as is. Its still fucking shit. But atm it is at least tolerable (on a good day). ign: Vixien Last edited by vixien#0024 on Mar 30, 2014, 3:11:46 PM

hmm...you go play WoW or D3 instead, you say?
funny that you mention two games that both came up with explicit solutions to the enormous problems an auction house brings. note: i'm not saying the solutions they employed would necessarily work well in poe. i am just pointing out that those games have already been through this disease poe has only recently become afflicted with it, and it's a slow acting disease here. that doesn't mean plugging your ears and going "lalala everything will be fine!!!" will make this disease go away. history repeats. this is a killer disease and it hurts. there is nothing magical about poe that will protect it from it. this will not be the one exception in the history of gaming. " No I don't believe anything is the indexers fault. It's a matter of cause and effect. The indexers existence is the same reason RMT exists, both are merely symptoms of balancing a game around trade. |

" Yes, WoW has farmable loot tables and D3 has increased drop rates with reduced mod spawn rates along with crafting. I really don't care how I get my loot to progress. I don't. I don't care if I buy it, if it drops, If I craft it, or if every friday GGG directly deposits a piece of gear into my stash. All I care about is I can make Character A clear the content the game has. If character A cannot, then I want the reason to be my fault, and not the games. Getting rid of the indexer and changing nothing else will make content inaccessible due to factors outside of my control. When that happens, I will quit playing. " Its not a symptom of balancing around trade though. The indexer exist because GGG failed to implement a trade system that isn't shit. Its how the trade system works that is at fault for the indexer, not the game balanced around trading. ign: Vixien Last edited by vixien#0024 on Mar 30, 2014, 3:21:19 PM

you're saying you don't care how you get your items.
then at the same time, you're saying that it's 100% needed that you get your items through trade, and not some other method. contradict yourself, much? talk about closed minded. it's like you're basically dictating that the drops should always be shit, and you should always play in Trader RPG mode to get good gear. what a shitty attitude. " yes because a logical developer would both ban trading AND make drops shit? what the hell are you talking about dude Last edited by Veruski#5480 on Mar 30, 2014, 3:21:13 PM

" Please quote me where I said its 100% needed to get your items through trading and not some other method. There only needs to be ONE method. GGG chose trading. I don't care if they ban trading and increase drop rates. I dont care if they ban trading, drop rates, crafting and instead put the gear I need directly into my stash when I get to the point of needing it. All that matters is we have access to the gear we need. Thats it. Nothing else matters. And as for logical developer. Drops are already shit. The trade system is shit. If the trade system itself did not suck, there would not be a need for the indexer. It could stay trading with shit drops. ign: Vixien

" Ok I'm done. We'll have to agree to disagree about it not being a symptom of trade. But I do agree that GGG failed to implement a trade system capable of handing the trade. Last edited by Temper#7820 on Mar 30, 2014, 4:12:39 PM

" they made the trade system shit on purpose (which admittedly does not take much effort) to slow down this disease. do you not know this? you're arguing in circles. circular logic is bad for your health |
