Poe.xyz is the Auction House that makes this game playable at high levels. I'd long have lost interest without that site.
The only people who dislike it are those who want to scam other players.
I rarely trade and believe XYZ is a plague.
The game "used" to be balance around just a few trades. Not as a big marketplace that made half the loots useless and make people feels they are not finding good enough gear.
The defintion of good gear from open beta and now is completely different. And that's partially due to XYZ that allows us to compare items.

Then youre not playing for fun but looking for a stock market simulator.
Logic, apply it. He is saying the exact opposite. Poe.xyz makes this game playable without the player having to spend a lot of time on trading. If not for Poe.xyz, it would be a trade simulator.

The real sad part, I always found even normal chat trading to be too powerful.

This just isn't true, that reflects far more on the player. If you feel inclined to trade that much, that's really on you.

This game is definitely not balanced around a little bit of trading. It's balanced around having insanely good gear, which is why normal folk never make it past entry level maps, assuming they can even make it that far.

Maybe its powerful, but also **** boring as hell. At least sites like XYZ cut the crap and let you do the trade fast and go back to playing hack&slash, instead of staring at chat for X hours like a catatonic...

Yeah look I'm sure it's convenient compared to trade chat, but if I feel "cheap" using normal trade, I don't even want to know...
Ultimately it's fairly simple for me, when I start trading the game dies, every time. Sometimes I just didn't have the will to stop myself and sometimes I'd been forced to trade (partying, races, etc), it all ended poorly.

Yup. I'm under the impression that they do global passive tree/skill gem nerfs to balance OP uniques, leaving those without said uniques fucked and frustrated.
No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

So, you are able to sustain a pool of level 75+ maps without trading?

without xyz you would be spending more time trying to trade than playing the game
it's actually the opposite.
just like in the d3 auction house (that everybody hated i might add)
its easier to find upgrades by browsing the poe auction house (xyz) than it is to play the game
so because of xyz, i now spend much more time on the auction house than i normally would.
i was playing this game in open beta as well and the trading was very very different. far less spammy and far more personal.
