Brian's Feedback to Looting (quote from reddit)

i believe most of the complain comes from simple jealousy.

i get angry when i lose yellow or rare orbs.
i get happy when i take yellow or rate orbs.

could be just me

Not really surprising considering the only players such a system benefits are the griefers and leechers. They can't really come out and say "I like to grief and leech from other players" can they now? So instead they turn to insults like crybaby, selfish, gimme gimme, go back to d3 if you want ezmode; which most of the time is irrelevant to the argument and humorous considering their selfish reasons for wanting ffa in the first place.

There's a reason most games don't have ffa loot anymore, and it's not about laziness or catering to the critical mass of gamers. It's because ffa is a grief mechanic.

Best post ever. Time will soon tell us if GGG want a griefer game or not. Can't wait. I'd like to say I'm not affected because I always play with friends, but ofc I am. A griefer game will appeal onto a niche playerbase long term. That means less cash incoing, less new content etc. Try to see the bigger picture...have your precious FFA loot and a less successful game with less investment, or a CHOICE that really should make everyone happy, and more players stick around and thus result in a better, stronger longterm future.
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

to GhostlightX

question for you.

i personally love FFA but i also think personal loot or longer timer option is a great idea.

BUT i think FFA should be encouraged in PoE, like encourage meaning, increased quantity or quality.

what do you guys think of that.

is it fair for you all? or are you guys thinking coordinated group will have huge advantage and it's just not fair.

I don't give a damn as I won't be personally affected. I just don't want the game to needlessly lose players over something as dumb as not offering a simple loot option.

FFA worked back in the day, but now IDK, but there are some people that will be turned off to the game because of this. There has to be a happy medium.
If you think I care what you think, you need more of a life than I do.
Just wanted to share:

I always try to run no ninja pts, but this time a ninja called kirmora did an amazing job and got a chaos of mine and logged out. Big point is he told us he was in vent with another player from the pt, with whom he prolly laughed his lungs off when he screwed with me.

Who laughs last laughs best: the said friend kept on party and I ninja'd his chaos - put on your friend's tab, I said.

I'm bitching about having FFA in a PVE game.

Your idea that PvE can't have competitive elements is objectively wrong, and the idea that PvE shouldn't have such elements is an attitude much better suited for other, different games. It's a concept that doesn't apply here at all, and may be the reason you're having such a hard time understanding the most basic fundamentals of the game.

The developers have consistently stated they want the atmosphere of their game to be cutthroat, which I would say they've succeeded in doing. A great number of people, many of which come from Diablo 2, have supported this game because of that atmosphere, and similarly exceptional decisions made by the developers.

Taking that into account, it's safe to say that whatever changes GGG makes to the loot distribution, it will always be FFA. You may not like that, and you don't have to. No game can cater to everyone, nor should it try to. This is why different games exist, so that everyone can find something they enjoy.

While making suggestions for improving the game is perfectly acceptable, demanding that the core philosophy of the game be changed solely for the sake of your personal whim comes off as a bit selfish and arrogant. I don't believe the immature manner you've chosen to conduct yourself in helps that perception, either.

There are many ARPGs and MMORPGs which lack the feature of FFA loot, and while those games don't interest me personally, it seems the sort of affair that you would be better suited for.

The more and more I read your post, the more it becomes apparent that you have no idea what you're talking about, your reading comprehension skills are lacking, your Hand-eye coordination skills are sub-standard, and you probably have Diablo 3 on Run-on-Startup.

Now, I'm not taking sides, I just wanted to neutrally point out that that reminded me of this, and I thank you for it.

I'll reply to everything else in a second, just wanted to say that this made me laugh.

There is a happy medium. It's called the Distanced-Based loot timer that is currently in game.

This is the worst post ever. My sister is the most casual easy mode player I have met and she loves the FFA system. She is far from a griefer. I think the people against this FFA thing are a whole different category of people all together.
