Suggestions for new character naming

Bump.
GGG, Why u no reply to this thread?!? (bump)
These threads are on par with ninja and respec threads. This would be a complete waste of time and resources. Is it so hard to come up with a name? Have none of you ever played a online game before? Sorry you all can't run around with characters named "Matt,Kyle,Amy " etc. Do you really lack basic creativity? You're probably the people who have never experimented with builds and just go FotM cookie cutter. I hate all of you.
How did the problem (your lack of imagination) which is your problem, suddenly became our problem?
See the way is see it is like this: YOU have this problem, that is entirely YOUR problem and you want to make it GGG´s problem but you see there is one problem...its not THEIR problem. :)

You guys need to actually read a topic before you start bombing it. You really don't want me to get on your cases like I have to the last guy who annoyed me in your manner here.

I'll accept you may not agree with me, but be civil about it. Don't simply assume things with nothing to base them off on. And don't start degrading a person's worth acording to such flimsy assumptions.

Only reason I won't explain why this isn't just my problem to you is because it's already been said. Now you guys either read up or get out. We don't need the uneducated here.

You could compile all of the points made for why this should be done and edit the 1st post for all the "tl;dr"-ers.

Stuff like:
- In 3 months or 6 months or a year, it'll be hard to find anything not taken (I asked the people at work that tried the game how many tries it took for them to make a name).
- What system can be used to help with the naming system (we already have an account tag for the forum, why not in game).
- Unique names may force people to "be creative", but it also forces people to do stupid names like "Kkkkkyyyyyllllleeeee" or "Dôóõòööm".

Finally, I don't understand why people argue on the suggestion forum. Who are you to determine what is important to GGG and what isn't. If they at GGG don't like the idea, they can say so or continue ignoring it. They don't need YOU to fight their battles. If you are opposed to a suggestion, stop feeding its post count by posting on its thread.

I'll at least give him that, though he seems to be misguiding his hatred. :/

And I'll be honest with you, I actually like flame wars when they aren't derogatory to the base cause. XD

At this point, this topic has nothing more to provide, there would be no harm at all to it if something started. In fact, if this escalated enough and a mod would come to shut it down, he'd have to read the topic. Which would be in the best interest of the topic. So I'm in a no lose situation as is. Specially since, unlike debates, flame wars are won or lost in the first post. Those two already lost.

At least I'm giving them fair warning about it though. :p

What's funny to me is that everyone opposing seems to use the arguement "It's just your problem, not my problem". On the contrary, it's not necessarily our problem either, because we have characters.

We're actually looking out for future players that haven't started yet (don't know about you, but I have friends, and I am telling them about this awesome game). I'm sure my friends and the thousands of other future players will not enjoy how much effort it takes to create a character name when they just want to jump in and play (after, of course, the long download heh).

But... it is your problem if you cant come up with a fictional name on your own. As for the future would be players they dont need you or anyone else looking out for them. If youre old enough to play this game legit you should be able to come up with a name for yourself.
Sooo again not our problem i recommend reading a book food for the imagination dont cha now? :))

I didn't read all the suggestions, so these have probably already been mentioned.

First, allow for spaces/special characters. To be fair, I have an underscore ( _ ) in my name, so power to that.

Second, require two names. Buck Jonesin. That's a good marauder's name. Highen Mighty. A name I want for a templar. Shadee Dealin. Remember that when a shadow steals your kill.

Third, random name generator. Source for names, feed them into the generator and let people go wild with them.

Otherwise, allow multiple instances of the same name with some randomized identifier bound to an account.
