Suggestions for new character naming

Again, read the topic. The system is flawed. Read it atleast from page one to three. This explains exactly WHY it's flawed and why your anser is redundant, and in no way adresses the problem at hand. The problem here is not lack of immagination. That's your problem. Not mine.

P.S.S i did read you initial post and thought it was ludicrous hence my posts. You really dont expect a whole game system to change just because you cant have you lord of whatever name right? Well snap. Can't really be hating you for just having a different opinion. Though I don't believe you understood what the people were talking about, I'll atleast respect your point of view.

But with that in mind, it should still be said that the current system will be trouble for everyone, you included, in a few months for sure. The reasons have been stated several times now and once recently, to you, by another person. More players, each having multiple characters = less coherent names available.

We're 2 or 3 weeks into open beta and already there are people having trouble finding names. What'l it be like in 6 months? It'll be people going with names like lkjgeuahbzll because anything coherent will be taken.

Time will tell.

Still think this issue should be resolved BEFORE it becomes serious. Preventing is easier then healing. It's also cheaper.

Nothing to prevent as far as im concerned. But look at it this way it was going 70000+ strong and untill now there hasnt been a thread with this "issue". And this? this is not bad i played hero online now there was a name problem but again not for me i had 3 chars there and just one involved numbers cause i got impatient to play the game. So to make it final not much of a issue but if you still find it difficult to find names feel free to pm me and ill draft you a list of char names all 24 slots. Gender and class specific. I am willing to offer this service to you just to prove that is not a big deal.

I tried to make a character named MyNameWasTaken, SomeoneTookMyName, ThisIsMyName, UniqueName, UniqueCharacterName, but they were all taken. :)

I finally made NobodyHasThisNameYet the Duelist!

But wait a minute... That name is stupid, uncreative, and unoriginal. Yet...it was made just to prove points, several points.

1. It takes several tries of a variation of a name to get something.
2. Taking several tries means I don't get the name I wanted in the first place.
3. Why are the people fighting so hard to FORCE other people to be "original" rather than, say, letting them have the name they wanted in the first place.

You know, I WANT to see it both ways...but the guys arguing against us are basically telling the people that haven't started this game yet to go screw themselves. That name I made above? I don't even like it. I think it's stupid. And I'm lucky to have been able to get ONE of the several names I tried for my MAIN character.

Yeah, about that, I don't want YOUR names, I want MY names. I can come up with names I don't like all day. The point of us asking to remove the forced unique name system is because we don't want to get forced into making character names that we don't like. I want to like my character name, not settle with the "leftovers" I got.

Luckily I have not encountered this problem, but I agree that it is a silly thing to force unique names. I cannot for the life of me imagine why unique names are required unless the devs are doing something really silly like using the char name as the PK of the character.
