Just play your own game, enjoy it. Not visiting the forum and not having any public chat on (which yo never should really) will just give you that experience. There are tons of players like you, yet your jealousy of other people having more time than you seems to be winning, get over it, you are 43 !

I did care about this some time ago. But now? I just feel pitty.

If people, without jobs, wife, girlfriend, kids, life feel the need to patronize people that don't have the time to play HC leages, I feel nothing but pitty for them.

They see themselves as "hard core", coz they got nothing else to spend their time on. It is a bit sad.

When I was a kid, I was bullied. My parents just kept telling me "ignore them", and I just simply couldn't do that.
I knew they were stupid, sad, pathetic and that their insults shouldn't affect me because I had all the reasons to realize I was infinitely more intelligent than those idiots, but I couldn't.

I suppose it's the same here. The simple fact than they feel superior by playing a game in a different mode than you (what an achievement in life guys! woohoo! Try to grow some pubic hairs now) place them to the bottom of the humanity (or just in the "stupid teenagers that will eventually grow up" category), but still you can't enjoy the game as you would like when you are constantly being insulted.

Nah screw that - report these punks. It doesn't take alot of time or effort. Eventually GGG will have to take some kind of action.

Keep a record of everything - it doesn't take much time or effort, and at some point it could be useful. IMHO. I can't tell you how many times I've used that to my advantage.

PoE used to have a nice community. I seriously hoped it would escape the "shitty community" malediction most F2P have... And it seems I was wrong. The problem is that GGG doesn't seem to really care.

I bet this guy says "I just don't have time for stuff like that (fun stuff)" like it's something to be proud of. I've known people who try to make their friends or peers feel inferior by constantly reminding them of how little time for anything they have. Like not having time for stuff is supposed to impress me.

I think you can make your point without doing this. I agree scrubcore is a lame term.

I dont know anyone 40+ who thinks that a young kid pointing out his age in a conversation, especially in a derogatory sense like this, is OK. Not a single one.

If I were to divulge that I am from a hispanic background, in order to explain language difficulties in this game, does that open me up to racial slurs?

He told you his age to help explain his life situation, not to be mocked for it.
