Used to have a nice community??? What back when there was only forced short allocation for drops? It was not only the HC vs SC fights, but the Perma Allocation vs Short Allocation vs No Allocation

It's gotten better, but the fact remains. The PoE community is, and always will, be toxic.

Why always? Because there will always be separate leagues. Because there will never be a system of gold which can put items on a set value- this leads to bartering. Sounds good, but in reality it leads people to mistrust each other, fearing being scammed or ripped off.

In a way GGG is somewhat responsible. They wanted their game to be "competitive rather than cooperative". That's why there's no direct support 'class'. Yeah there's auras and curses to help the group out, but there's no direct healing or buffing like other RPGs.

No, but I PLAYED sports, as a kid, and taunting someone during a match is fine, after the match is over its 'good game, you played well' and shake hands. And yes during the match, taunting is important, but both people involved know the purpose.

You didnt go on 'facebook' or the 'forums' after the match was over and continue to taunt the person.

Sportsmanship.. that's all i heard from my coach.

As far as watching sports, again.. the offensive line isn't even miked, and if they were, you probably wouldn't understand them. After the match the most eloquent player tells the reporter how well the other team played, etc.

Keep a record of everything - it doesn't take much time or effort, and at some point it could be useful. IMHO. I can't tell you how many times I've used that to my advantage.

Typically, one don't get so defensive just from playing an easier game, but from being spat upon by self-important twits from high up on the hc pedestal. This tends to trigger a fight or flight response, because psychology, and we end up with these kind of pie tossing contests.
