How do you justify being a PoE "no-lifer" in the new leagues?

I'm sure that all the high level players are completely skilled at power leveling. One would think that after power leveling to 80+ in 3 four month leagues that would by now be tedious and boring, what with none to little improvement in rewards given for time played. Yes, it is true that grind is the first G in GGG and all so we either accept this fact and continue to play PoE as it is or quit and shut up. Still, the limited time players can still dream of a Solo League.

Don't insult solo casual players...

Your assumptions are all wrong:

1) You assume this league is harder than the last 2, it isn't.

2) You assume that getting lvl 75 is hard or time consuming, it isn't.

3) You assume that everyone who has reach that level must be grouping up and playing 24/7 to get that high, they aren't.

I work 9-10 hours per day (including travel time)
I sleep 7-8 hours a night
My wife keeps me busy around the house, yet I still managed to get lvl 71 already in the new leagues playing solo averaging around 3-4 hours per night.

Proof: http://poestatistics.com/ambush/140.html - This is the ambush ladder on poestatistics.com you can see each users play time, XP time, rank, and level.

As you can see most players that are around level 75 only play an average of 3-4 hours per night, with some nights off since the league started. Most of them usually get to around lvl 40-50 in their first play session. That's not very hardcore when you compare it to the top ladder players "no-lifers". Right now the top ranked person in ambush has played an average of 7.5 hours per day, getting to lvl 70 in his first play session (day 1 of the new league)

8 x 7 = 56 hours = no-life
Anyone playing PoE 40+ hours a week is a no-lifer*.

I don't agree with this. No-Life for me hits when one area dominates the other. Playing 12-18 hours a day is no lifing imo.

I don't think there is anything wrong with working from 8-4(or school). Then getting home and instead of watching TV you play some games. Granted you might factor in eating, working out, and doing routine house stuff, you still have a good 4-5 hours of time you can do whatever you want with. (thats 30-40 hours just during the week, plus weekend time)

I don't consider myself a no-life gamer because I prefer to play games instead of watching american idol and then texting in a vote.

If you want to say "well I have four kids, and two jobs, I can't compete" then you have to take some personal accountability for the choices you made in life. It's not the gaming communities fault that your priorities are elsewhere(and rightfully so)

I got lvl 81 in 4 days, took two days off work (thursday , friday) and also played over the weekend. Easily ended up top 19. Now back to normal live though, so playing only about 3h a day + more on wekends.
Bluntly put?

I'm an adult, and I don't have to justify how I spend my time to anyone but myself, and "myself" is perfectly fine with me having fun. :)

Well, more in detail, my Ambush character just hit 80. I did play quite a bit since the league started, even sacrificed a few hours of sleep in the first few days, but I also think I play relatively efficiently and my build has a good clearing speed. It doesn't nearly take as long as it did with my first few characters. I can also play (or at least be logged in) while I'm working, so that's also time that went into the game.

But at the end of the day, it's just a trade-off. Other people watch TV several hours a day (I don't even have a TV!), I play PoE. Most of this extra time was taken from instrument practicing and recreational reading, but those are all hobbies, as well.

Some people just manage their time better than others, or have a low overhead (no commuting time, for example).

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
People who are high level don't have to justify anything in the new leagues, they are either better then you or play more.

I mean the entire ladder lasts 4 months, if it takes you 10 levels a week you'll still hit level 100 before the ladder ends.
