How do you justify being a PoE "no-lifer" in the new leagues?

I justify it by having fun x) Still far from 75 though, I got bored of my Ambush character (64) and restarted in Invasion (55 atm).
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Are you saying thats a lot of people at level 75+ or not a lot? I'm confused...

I think it is for leagues that only started on March 5th at 1:00 pm PST and here we are on March 14th at 6:25 am PST.

Yes but is he saying he thinks that is a lot of players above 75 or is he saying its not a lot after a this amount of time.

Level 75+ is pretty standard now for more experienced players. I don't think thats a large time investment.

Looking as the Ambush and Invasion ladders:

Ambush = 3472 players level 75+
Invasion = 722 players level 75+

with less than 2 weeks into the new leagues. With increasingly harder content every 4 months with no appreciable buff in loot quality how do you justify the time factor anymore?

Edit: For these players how many hours per day does it take to get to your 75+ level?

I am only really playing 3-4 hours at night and on the weekends (half of that I idle in town or trade...). PoE is just about knowledge to become fast and efficient. After racing a few seasons (being totally average) you know a few tricks. It also helps to have guildies to give you some waypoints or vice versa.

However I am as baffled as you by the lvl91 guys. I only ever hit 89 in Domination, which I quit after 1.5-2 months or so. One week for this seems insane, especially when you look at their poestatistics data and expect to see: 24 hours played a day. But it really isn't the case...

We'll need to see some hours played for level reached to know how many hours/day from anyone level 75+ to get an idea if it takes a "no life" playing of PoE. I'm leaning toward yes, these are no-lifers and I'm sure if/when GGG sees the numbers they are all with big smiles and thinking, "This is fantastic. We have created an arpg that can enslave the players".

Edit: Damn it GGG, we are convicts and have been exiled to Wraeclast but by God we are not slaves!

 Maybe in 1000 years (think Futurama) when the moon is further away from earth and days are 48 hours long then maybe a week is sufficient time to play PoE to level 75+ and still have time for a real life. Of course by then (if humans survive ourselves and don't self-destruct) we will all have some kind of brain implant and can just feed the game directly to our brain.

As far as I can tell, it's less about the time that you put into it, but how that time is utilised.

For example I'm playing about 4 hours every couple of days or thereabouts, but when I play I'm sometimes picking up white items, grabbing every magic and rare to sell for the shards, organising my stash so I can sell exactly 40% worth of quality items for another Armourer's Shard so that I can finally get that rare item up to 20% quality to sell for the 2 Orbs of Alchemy...

I'm exploring the entire level to see if there's a corrupted area, looking to find an invader boss I haven't yet encountered; making multiple trips back and forth to sell the junk I've accumulated and maybe end up with a couple of Orbs of Alteration...

I'm looking over my passive tree, debating whether to keep going for health or whether I can safely grab a few nodes towards that small damage ring or if I should make the small journey over to that node with the extra dexterity because that one skill might need more than I currently have next level...

I'm heading into the Catacombs a couple of times just because I can, I'm checking out The Dread Thicket in normal mode, I'm messing about with Orbs of Fusing and Alchemy even before I'm in Cruel mode...

(Oh, and chances are good that I'm doing this all on some theme-character like an ice-witch or a shadow that's going to get conversion traps...)

Meanwhile the other player; they've got their build layed out in their mind and on the screen, they know where they're going and when, they've likely got their friends or guildmates playing with them, they know what items they need and what gems and supports they're after, they're heading straight for their immediate goal, ignoring the enemies that aren't worth the effort, maybe only picking up the stuff they know vendors for a good price, leaving trash rares on the ground, not bothering to craft armourer's shards or whetstones and just...playing more effectively than myself.

Not to mention they probably know a better way to go to find the exit to the next area.

8 hours of sleep, 8 hours of play, 8 hours of real life -> easy level 75 in a week.

 I'm sure that all the high level players are completely skilled at power leveling. One would think that after power leveling to 80+ in 3 four month leagues that would by now be tedious and boring, what with none to little improvement in rewards given for time played. Yes, it is true that grind is the first G in GGG and all so we either accept this fact and continue to play PoE as it is or quit and shut up. Still, the limited time players can still dream of a Solo League.

Edit: Since I'll never ever get a build to 90 (maybe not even 80), I'm up to 96 pages of posts in 14 months so my goal is to reach 100 pages of posts before I quit.

Edit 2: Ah, good. This thread puts me into 97 pages. Maybe I'll reach 100 pages by March 25th.

8 x 7 = 56 hours = no-life
Anyone playing PoE 40+ hours a week is a no-lifer*.

* = PoE factoid

I hit 75 in Ambush yesterday, and I have a full time job. In addition, PoE isn't the only game I have played since launch of 1.1; I have played a good bit of LoL too, and spent time doing other, non-game things. Some nights I played PoE as little as 2 hours.

75 is not a hard number to achieve in Ambush in a week's time if you know what you are doing and spend a decent bit of time on it; sorry you either spend way too little time or are bad, but that really doesn't give you the right to call me a "no-lifer" lol.
