If you buy the $5 pack?
|
So you guys'd pay $7 for 50 points (7.14 pts/$) rather than $5 for 46 (9.2 pts/$)? Ridiculous.

Same as most things in this world.
I just went to the gas station and I get a way better deal when I buy 3 packs of smokes at a time vs 1 pack. Same with 2-liter's of Dr Pepper. If i buy two at once I get them for 1.33 per 2-liter :) Same tactic most retailers have used for ages not sure why it's such a surprise to most people. It isn't that way, but it should be.

" It'd be a better analogy to say that with that three-pack of smokes (of which I implore you to quit..) your third pack is cut into a third and they keep that third. "I am now too addicted to that feeling of being kicked in the nuts when you die." ~CliveHowlitzer

" Consumers should feel sore about whatever they feel like because they are the ones in the position of power here. GGG should cater to reasonable demands in regards to pricing, especially when it's plainly mutually beneficial. GGG have taken the worst option on the table here out of the four that I can see: 1) Use the current system: Points are sold in bundles that don't fit in with the multiples of 50 that most things are sold for in store. [Arouses suspicion and irritation] 2) Sell points for slightly above current rate so that consumers always receive multiples of 10 that are usable for items in the store. Adjust all store prices to be multiples of 10. [Pricing structure seems odd but a brief explanation, perhaps on buy page and all parties understand] 3) Use the current system but price currently 50 point items at 46 and 100 point items at 96. [GGG make less money, points system seems irregular but consumers aren't cut short] 4) Allow players to buy custom numbers of points in increments of 10 and add the flat transaction cost to what they buy, as well as a bonus number for buying increasing points. [People don't feel hard done by but are more likely to only buy what they need. GGG have to deal with a variety of incoming purchases which may or may not be more hassle] Frankly I the only justification for the current system is to have nice round price points of $5 and $10 as opposed to a bit above $5 and a bit above $10. Considering the high number of European and Australian/NZ players this is actually pretty redundant anyway. Like I said, utterly illogical decision by GGG. " There is nothing better than eating some chocolate, or having hot chocolate, and smoking a cig at the same time. It's nirvana. |

All the cool kids do it, so GGG hopped on board. It has nothing to do with CCs or Paypal (this is a ridiculous claim), the system has been carefully crafted by F2P games over the years to maximize profits. Having leftover points after a purchase provides incentive to buy more points in the future, providing an "odd" number of points for any purchase below the max encourages buying the larger pack (on top of any "bonus"). It's tried and proven, it increases sales, and GGG is obviously about the $$$ more than buyer convenience.
And before the, "It's F2P go play something else!" and "it's BETA!!!1!" ... not relevant, I don't care, stop posting that in every thread containing the slightest amount of criticism. |

" Yup, obviously only about the money. They're so much about the money that they will never charge for expansions, the game, stat boosts, gear, etc. Their only purpose in life is to piss you off so that you don't buy from them and whine and call them liars on the forums. Congratulations on how ridiculous your post just sounded. I love people who have been here less than a week and have everything ALL figured out.
