" "The initial alpha release will be distributed through Steam because that proved to be the easiest way to provide an exclusive alpha for backers and put out patches while we are still actively developing the game and fixing issues. Other download options may be rolled out later depending on how long alpha lasts / what we are able to manage. " Medierra pointed out why they decided to use Steam for Alpha. " No NDA. Medierra mentioned there is no NDA involved. "There is no NDA. We'll leave those to the professionals." Enjoying it thus far. Like GGG, Crate got the look and feel of the game just right. I'd say, if you liked TQ, you'll probably like GD. It has the same overall feel but with a slightly different targeting system, and a few other various changes/updates as well. Writing is good overall, no voice work though (not sure if planned or not), and music is solid. No bugs that I have found yet, but only played for a few hours. Seems stable, no crashes, max settings plays well, Alt-Tabs w/o issues. Very solid for an alpha. I foresee playing it alongside PoE and TL2 for quite some time. While all three are in the same genre, they all offer something different and play quite differently from each other. It's too bad more genres don't offer the same variety. :)

Just watched a stream, looks very solid. Will definitely buy once it's ready.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" "/pukes" really? I mean I know GGG did a stand alone alpha and closed beta but you can't blame the devs for making use of easy to use tools such as steam to help them launch their closed alpha. Are you really going to hold a grudge because of it? Besides that, I played about 3 hours of it today and I do like the look and feel (though I do still think / wish for it to be improved on, alpha being alpha). I also think that both PoE and GD can co-exist and even share the same player base with no problems. PoE takes its ques from D2 while GD takes them from TQ (no surprize here). I look forward to the development of both games. Last edited by Lionguild#4990 on May 15, 2013, 8:26:32 PM

Having a lot of fun thus far! Totally missed the first quest dungeon and ended up hitting level 10 before I figured it out.

Great first impression. The game hiccuped a bit when a large group of mobs showed up on the screen, but otherwise felt very stable.
My main concern is having your health regen so quickly out of combat made kiting a bit too effective. Especially since bosses seem to not be able to leave their little area (like in TQ). I only got to level ten though. Things might be different in the later game. |

I was watching a lot of streams yesterday and I am so happy I supported them on KS. I could not afford Alpha but I am sure my release version will be awesome. Unless PoE fixes it problems until then I am going to completely forget it.
