SOTV Failed?
Tell the devs to add /online again then.
Steam is a representative Control Sample! The way the Character creation is designed noobs are compelled to create an Ambush character. I liked the scrollbox far more from that point of view. | |

I'm loving ambush league but a guildie is hounding me for a chest that dropped yesterday. I really don't want to give up a 1000 armor 488 evasion chest 5link..just because he says its perfect for his build.

I certainly agree that aspects of SOTV failed. By SOTV I mean vaal stuff... not the new leagues. Adding content that excludes players based on acceptable play styles is a poor design choice. Self-found/solo/HC shouldn't be excluded as a deviant play style for the sake of making the game challenging for those who exploit every advantage they can find. I seriously doubt anyone will attempt to kill Atziri playing self-found HC, much less solo.
I like the new corrupted areas and the idea of corrupted items, but think even that could be improved. The map fragments shouldn't drop until level 60+ areas. They shouldn't take up a drop for a skill gem/orb in any event. To me, they're a waste. If I ever get a midnight one, I'll probably break my rules against trading to compensate for the losses. But I don't even know how to trade. The Vaal Skills are a major fail... mainly because we don't have enough skill slots on the skill bar to give up for a "fun" skill that gets used once or twice an instance. People keep talking about the leagues as if they were part of the expansion... they weren't. They would have happened anyway. Last edited by Shagsbeard on Mar 11, 2014, 9:23:01 AM

I do not think that it failed at all.
SotV Features: New Vaal Skills New Endgame Boss New Vaal Orb Corrupted Areas New PVP Arena Minor additions(WP Art/New Monster/New Uniques) On top of that Ambush and Invasion are shaping up to be the best leagues ever. They both are amazing and have completely different play styles. If you are asking whether or not it failed in terms of popularity then I have no clue. All I know is that now I am hooked again. " Sorry but what means that? It means nothing lol, people just try it, level a char and then can say if its a fail or not. You have to look at the people that will keep playing. My opinion about this patch: nice features but not tuned very well. + Invasion and ambush: best leagues ever till now. - Few bosses overtuned, both invasion and corrupted zone - high risk for crap loot - Corrupted area not spawning in maps - IQ removal - Vaal gems, "meh", shorter cd please +- Vaal orb, rng here we come, depends if you are with it or not - Aztiri gate: hard boss "ok" ( can be discuss but whatever ) but why the fragments don't have the same % chance to drop? One being super rare, fail - Endgame mf/maps always same crap It could have been easily a 8+ patch but they ruined it with some decisions i don't agree. No matter the absolute numbers, steam graph is representative of the rise or decline of the whole population. You can argue that "enough people still play", but you cant argue that the population is in overall rise or decline as showed by that graph.

" New Vaal Skills - useless in practice New Endgame Boss - dunno about that, never saw her and more likely never will New Vaal Orb - troll orb, designed to ruin fools's items, it's healthy for economy Corrupted Areas - lost in risk/reward ratio, also too rare, can't spawn in maps New PVP Arena - same old PvP with zero balance improvements Are we talking about quantity, or quality ? Quantity is ok. This is a buff © 2016

Saying that legacy items are "feature" of permanent leagues is like saying that defecation pain after eating spicy food is its "feature".
