I feel bad ripping off the newbies...

But I think I know of an adequate way to "punish" all of you people who enjoy and like to screw over others. In another game on a private server, I ran a guild called the "Free Giveaway Guild." It was exactly what the name meant; I gave away shit that other ppl needed but 1) couldn't afford or 2) weren't geared up well enough to get the things. My toon did insane dmg, close to 10mill buffed so it was easy for me to do this. I'm thinking that when the guild, or whatever will be implemented, perhaps I'll do something like this here and have the guild bank, or whatever will be implemented stocked with stuff for whomever needs.
The Pope quit, a meteor fell on Russia, an
asteroid came close to the earth, there's snow in Arizona, star wars and star trek have the same director! Who the hell is playing jumanji? | |
" At worst you would do nothing, at best you would wake her up and see if she's okay. Even if you were trying to be funny, please why would you joke about something like this? :< To the original poster, if you feel bad - don't do it then! Why not educate them on it as they are new? When you explain they're inadvertantly making a loss, and they thank you for pointing it out, compare that feeling to this bad one. Why can't ppl be nice to each other. :( |

" I see a person asking for a Freezing Pulse 0% I say what do you offer for it. Offers a couple of exalts. I say yes and try to get an alch more from it. Says no I go okay fine. Says yes I sweetened the deal and got more from my already profited trade/ Am I a bad person? Rofl they're the one that traded me. Am I saying at the start 10 exalts for my freezing pulse or no deal? No. God, these people are so obnoxious it's ridiculous. |

Linked a 12% Freezing Pulse gem in chat that I had found the other day, had someone offer me a Chaos Orb for it. I LOL'd.

" Quoting that from Charan as that is another very good PoE quote - He needs his own link at the top of the forums we can add to when he does this, so everyone can see them 5 years down the road. "famous Wraeclast quotes" “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

Wow. This thread escalated quickly... I'm sorry some of you feel the way you do. The truth of the matter is I actually do feel bad about it, but at the same time it is just a video game. I never went out of my way to rip someone off. Yes I could have informed the players they were buying for too much, but I didn't. I posted here as more of a confession than to "seem cool". I have a 3 year old daughter . My "cool" days are long gone.
As for you people who are somehow comparing how people are in a game to real life, please seek mental help. This is in fact a game that people spend $100 real money on a fake silver kiwi bird pet. People with money spend it how they want. Personally I think this game is worth $100 to me, that's why I paid it. The guy who gave me 4 gcp for lightning strike gem obviously thought it was worth that to him. |

" No one is making the claim that you will be a "bank robber" for taking advantage of new players. What some are saying, like myself is you are being a d-bag because of it. YOU ALL HAVE A CHOICE. One side of the coin, you educate and then offer a fair deal... The other, you know the score and use that to take advantage. IT IS YOUR CHOICE. There is no unwritten law these days that one has to act like a total ass in game. There is no reward for being a dick to others in game. It is again your choice if you choose to act differently than you would in your real life. Again, if you make the CHOICE to act like a d-bag. Do not be surprised if you are called out for such. Once again, playing a video game does not excuse one from being a decent person. Not sure where all of you "people" get this mentality. Last edited by drookor#1959 on Jan 28, 2013, 10:09:13 AM

" Personally and this is just me and my life outlook - either i have honesty and integrity 100% of the time or i don't. It's my choice and how i choose to live my life - in a video game or out in the "real" world. I don't change just because it is a "video game" and i choose to be me 100% of time time. You made this thread, you knew people were going to call you on it when you typed it. Suck it up and take the hits until a mod comes and saves you by locking the thread. Keep it civil people. We don't know the people who were trading with him. Maybe they wanted the skill or gear so bad offered what they had or didn't care one bit to give away the stuff. Now 4 GCP's you deserve to fell guilty over that but you do and you can carry that guilt while you look at them, that was your choice. It's not wrong or right - it's over and done with, money in the bank and at this point - maybe you taught them a lesson about trading for to high a price and maybe they don't really care because they have the skill they wanted. I've wanted certain things quick and right then a few times and didn't matter if i overpaid, that's the price sometimes. “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” —Leo Buscaglia Contact support@grindinggear.com to report issues relating to the game or forum.
