I feel bad ripping off the newbies...

Actually, this is how a barter economy works. If you want to engage in it, research or get burned.

Either way, you will learn.

My first ever magic the gathering trade was my serra angel for their craw wurm.

My first deck was green. I needed the firepower.

To this day I do not regret that trade, but I wouldn't personally let it happen to another.

Note I said personally. It's just me. My way.

If yours is to allow people to overpay, hey, maybe they really need that craw wurm.

The Exile is self serving and in this game pretty much for the power. To some that means making friends and allies, and to others it means taking whatever you can.

Neither is wrong, not on Wraeclast.

This sums it up perfectly. +1
Would anybody like some... POUNDCAKE?
Perhaps we could steer the topic a bit to how NOT to get ripped off. I wouldn't classify myself as a total noob, but I'm pretty sure that in the few trades I have done the other guy has been better off. Does good trading come with experience? How am I supposed to know if a gem is worth 2 chaos 2gmp or whatever? I know that if they have quality they are more valuable but it's hard to put a "price tag" on things. And items... It's obvious that a 5L chest is worth a lot, but what do they normally go for?

Try ripping somebody off in real life the next time and talk the way you do here there, tough guy. Ripping somebody off in real life can be and is adjudged as a crime depending on what you do there.

I'm sure you enjoy making a lot of cash off of newbs who don't know what price to pay. I hope that makes you sleep better at nights. Thats honestly pathetic.

Don't paint the entire community as being rip off artists and scammers. The few should not give a bad name to the many.

Now mend your ways before you end up with even more egg on your face.

Are you freaking serious?

Rofl more analogies describing real life scamming = ripping on some noobs in a game

While I'm at it I'll make an analogy too.

That apple is orange = That orange is orange

Never understood why so many of today's gamers separate how one acts in a game with real life.

In the past, most gained fame by not only how well they played the game. But also how well they were APPRECIATED in the community.

Now days many of you think there is a side game to every game. One where you compete at being intolerable d-bags. Not for any real gain. Just for the attention it gives you.

I mean somehow you think that NEGATIVE ATTENTION is even better for being known as a decent person.

When the reality is BEING A GOOD PERSON, actually translates well in in a video game.

Funny, just using a term like "noobs" actually speaks volumes about a player. One of these days perhaps some of you will come to realize that seeking negative attention doesn't actually make you cool. It just makes you look bad.

And why do you think I'm trying to look cool?
Will I ever try to attract this so called "Fame" in a fucking game? No I don't think so

Have I ever made a noob overpay for something this game? No, but if I had a chance to I would.

Have I ever took advantage of a noob before? Who hasn't.

Have I ever been taken advantage of when I'm a noob? Too many times.

Do I learn from it? Yes I do.

I don't even have to say I'm a good guy in REAL LIFE because I know I am, I volunteer, I donate money to charities and such, but you don't know that do you? Because you don't know me.

Ingame instances reflect real life but not as much as you claim it to be
Op is why I can't trade right now. I'm pretty sure until I understand the worth of the orbs, I'll never approach a fair trade.

And from your reply inadversity, I would NEVER want to have ANYTHING to do with you in the real world. You utter lack of morals and ethics is appalling; as is most of the gaming community today.

"If I can get away with screwing over the new guy or someone else and get away with it, then do it."

Most of this so called "valuable" shit in game I give away for free if I see someone who needs it. Pixels people, they're ONLY pixels. But that's just me :)
The Pope quit, a meteor fell on Russia, an
asteroid came close to the earth, there's snow
in Arizona, star wars and star trek have the
same director! Who the hell is playing jumanji?
I wouldn't feel bad its part of the game. It'd not like your holding a gun to their head or anything. It's just part of learning the game and as some of you seem to forget, unlike real life scams no one is loosing thier life savings, no one is loosing thier rent money. In fact most people will be happy because they got exactly what they wanted and won't think twice about it.

And for all you people equating this too molestation or generally being a bad person all I have to say in return is lol.

Pixels are pixels but when you have lots of it you do enjoy it more.

If there was an auction house and there was some items with no face (no real talker) on it, and all these items were there for really cheap, is that scamming people? Am I a "bad person" for doing it?

Oh my lord, all these forum users are so butthurt I can't even describe it.

Apparently since you all are psychologists and such with real life PhD's (yes you need a PhD to qualify as a real psychologist) is that ingame actions are translated into real life situations.

That's like saying i stole something from someone. OH NO I'm going to be a bank robber!
I have a stash full of orbs, uniques and rares right now and I dont dare trading because im so freaking confused about the economy.
I dont have a clue what skill gems are rare or common....which ones are drop only or quest given...and then if I did know....I have no idea what to trade for when it comes to orbs and stuff....again, which is more rare etc....What is a proper trade and so on.

So yah, the complex system is pushing people to a) not trade out of fear to lose a rare item without knowing and b) trade and get ripped off.

thats my biggest gripe with this game so far.
Hehe because it's ok to rip off newbies on Wraenclast. What about no? If you use this excuse i'm going to assume that you are a douchebag.
I don't know if I will trade. Seems like will be something I will just stack things in my stash and see if I ever get to a high level. Things like the OP is why I don't want to try. I don't know the trade values or anything about what would be good or just ok.
