Is POE doing enough to counter the D3 ROS hype?

Discount Price for a Blizzard game during the year it came out? Not likely..

Yeah i know but it will probably be at discount only during thanksgiving. That the only time where I have seen a discount for D3 !

Yup, the story of my wife and I...men...what a horrible game.
after playing more than 2,5k hours in both games i will say for sure that bind on account items is a must; there should be a bigger focus on playing the game instead of trading

There are people who still play Diablo 3 , there are people who still play Poe since the release , but you still get to the point where you've seen all and done all and at that point it reminds me about world of warcraft and how boring it was

I actually liked D3 well enough when it came out and continued to play it after most of the playerbase left.

That said, I still find it highly doubtful that I will even bother trying ROS because POE is simply a better game on a fundamental level. The complexity and depth of the Active/Support Gem system and Passive Skill Tree are just miles ahead of anything that the D3 game systems support.

From what I have seen the ROS changes look awesome and I think the expansion will make D3 a better game. I'm sure that the relative simplicity of D3 will be appealing to a lot of players. For me, however, it's just no contest. The depth of PoE wins.

RoS hype? Where? No one cares about it. Haven't seen any ads for it. Not even sure if beta is still running, and if it is, no one streams it.

RoS is dead. There is no hype.

Chris could post a pic of him in a bathing suit, a Hawaiian shirt, holding a white feather, and it would constitute more "hype", that anything RoS/Blizzard could do.

PS. Chris, pls! :P

Kinda true, most of the time (and before any replies, I didn't say "always") PoE has more viewers than the RoS Beta on twitch, and when it comes to Vanilla D3, there is no comparison.

Jup, there is no Hype. And RoS will NOT be dangerous for PoE.
It for sure is not as "good" as PoE - nevertheless I will play it cause I cant stand playing the same thing over and over, need some variety. RoS simply is some cheap Snack (ok..40 Euros is NOT cheap..) during my PoE breaks And it will be good enough to have some fun playing it, especially as RL friends will play RoS (they dont Play PoE anymore, sadly)

I'd like to try it. However, it would be a long time down the road, when I could pick it up used without giving blizz any more of my money.

I agree with the sentiment above though, more than likely it would just be a snack, not a replacement.

I came to POE because D3 failed in so many ways. And i don't think they will handle all that in ROS. As I heard its getting verse.
